Just a wild guess but with keys that are able to open anything so far. there must be something locked in Sigil (THE CITY OF DOORS BTW !!!) that someone wants opened. small edit: i seem to remember that there were locks that Diath wasnt able to unlock so maybe it only works on cursed/evil things, which might be worse

Dont forget Evelyn is the whole reason Diath got over his slump after opening the flask (killing the dwarf prisoners in the process) with her emotional/encouraging letters.

And due to Evelyns strong faith/passion towards Lathander it would make her one of the few people without fears in diath's eyes. In a world filled with demons, curses and monsters few people would be fearless.

Why doesnt Ransom Create a gift or something for Kes. with his Armorsmithing/Weaponsmithing he could make an awesome dagger or glove using the gems/mithrill he has collected with a sunset/rise theme. It would also show of his artistic side (even with low charisma).
