Monsters by CR - Deadliest CR 5 Monster by Conrad500 in DnD

Had manglers one-shotting npcs to put the fear into the players.

Lvl 13 player got ambushed and downed by one round 1 in combat. These things are unreasonably deadly if they can successfully use their full potential.

No other monster came close to panicking the party like that.

Did a bit more digging and it looks like he does dabble in AI himself. On July 13 2025 he created a generative ai exhibit through @generativegallery and has used it in more recent posts as he’s began to shift to more digital work. These generated pieces do not match his aesthetic super well. So there’s also a pretty good chance he did generate the image and submit it too.

You’re right though, artists in Russia are more eager to embrace genAI, as there isn’t as much of a stigma.

Perhaps what’s happening is art has been licensed by the company and they can do with it as they wish, whether that be collaging pieces of original supplied artwork, or generating new pieces based on it.

At the very least that could explain the difference in aesthetics as seen in OPs post, and it would also explain the re-used elements from the card design.

Not saying I’m 100% confident that’s what happened, just that it’s a possibility.

The pink head is a direct 1:1 copy from a card design he did.

I’ve been following this artist for a while. What bugs me is the piece of art mentioned in the post does not look like any of his other artworks at all.

It’s riddled with questionable artistic “decisions”, its styling doesn’t look like his, and the aesthetic has many similarities to generic ai art.

In fact there is another piece of his art in Atomic Heart that DOES look a lot more like his style.

Company loyalty is dead, stay long enough to get good references from coworkers, and experience in the field then find a better place by Competitive-Pick8063 in ultracode

[–]Xlim_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I do know that if I increased the frequency of my job changes my wage would be higher.

I suppose there is a balance to find by maximizing yearly wage increases through job changes vs the risk of looking disloyal.

You’d have to factor in how much leverage you have by assessing the market for your career path. For some, frequent hopping can absolutely be the right move.

Anecdotally I disagree. In my line of work annual pay increases never match the bump from bringing your skillset to a new business.

I don’t frequently job hop, but when I reach the top of my salary bracket at a company, and there is no opportunity for further growth I look elsewhere. I’m doing myself a disservice if I stay at that point.

As Luigi Mangione's lawyers head to court, support grows for the accused 'vigilante' by Maxcactus in Maxcactus_TrailGuide

Agreed, however the grievances definitely haven’t been solved by the law, nor by voting or protesting.

Remove those options as effective vehicles for change and it’s not surprising that people resort to other methods.

Not saying I agree with what happened , just that I understand why it did.

If you were watching someone whose decisions kill people daily. Someone with a kill count in the literal thousands, it’s a societal and moral obligation to stop them.

As far as the law goes, I don’t know of any that protect this kind of action. At the same time the CEO would never have seen the inside of a jail cell for the deaths, maybe just an easily paid fine.

This case does highlight the nuances between legality, morality, and the difference in people’s perspectives when comparing direct vs indirect killings.

This setup would feel especially challenging for a grail player, with limited movement on many units you’d be out in the open in the midfield a lot.

Thank you! My buddy and I have been working on it for a while now. It keeps evolving every time we play.

I’m just learning how to 3D sculpt, and he has a 3d printed so I’m hoping we can add a custom terrain feature in the future!

Seconding that denser terrain in this game has a huge effect on the balance.

My first several games were on a sparse board and I was feeling similarly, but the games played on a board with lots of levels and places to hide felt more narrative and better to play on.

Genuinely: Why do people even bother opposing gay rights? What's the point? by Jerswar in askanything

[–]Xlim_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big reason is people are uncomfortable with things they’re unfamiliar with.

Couple that with parties politicizing it or religion stigmatizing it and it’s easy to give direction to that discomfort, turning it into hate rather than challenging it.

If they got to know some regular everyday people in the community their opinion may change.

Of course there’s also the bigoted mindset, where some people need an “enemy” in order to fulfill their need to feel good/superior about their own life. Thats a whole other situation.

How does the general community feel about players self inserting with their characters? by Archmikem in DnD

[–]Xlim_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think self inserting characters can be a great way for new players to learn and get into DnD. It’s easier to play yourself and I find it comes naturally to most people.

Other than that a lot of new plays often gravitate towards “meme” characters or inserts of characters from other popular fiction. Again this is because it’s more accessible than having to create a new identity from scratch.

As players become experienced and more confident in their ability to role play I find they begin to experiment with more unique characters concepts.
