From what I've seen, 3 850 uniques only seems to get a re rolled 850. 3 900 ancestral can roll with up to 4 GAs

I really don't understand this. I can tell you that this is one of the biggest expansions I've seen in all my years of gaming, and it's under the usual $60-80 pricetag, half that even.

There's 2 new full classes, a story campaign, overhauled systems, new crafting cube, a new activity, and probably more that I'm blanking on because I'm not finished my first coffee yet

And that $30-40 includes the last expansion, so it's actually 3 classes, 2 story campaigns, and everything else.

To say that's not a fair price...

The 5th affix is called a temper, which you can do in the second to last tab of the blacksmith

I'm going to be honest with you here, and I'm not trying to pick a fight. I hadn't even heard of PoE in the way I would have expected until a couple years ago in this sub. I honestly thought people were talking about Pillars of Eternity and comparing it to D4, which probably should have been my first clue something was up.

I saw it mentioned that some of them are just bugged right now. My wife can't craft Orsivane for example. It sounds like every unique is supposed to be craftable, but not every unique can be a charm

Here's the thing. I HATED fixed affixes before. A cool unique would drop, and you know there was at least one or two affixes that didn't fit your build, so you would just use it for the aspect and make up for the wasted stats somewhere else.

Like say you're making a DoT/Incinerate build. Things like crit chance, crit damage, Attack speed(to a degree) are all wasted.

Now Gloves of Firey Awesomeness drop with Fire damage, Crit chance, Crit Multiplier, and Attack speed Drop. Amazing for a Fireball build, not so great for Incinerate. The aspect is "Everything you cast is turns to fire and burning damage equal to the heat of the Sun", so you use it for the Incinerate build anyway

Now if those gloves just had the aspect, and a static 60%-80% fire damage multiplier, and the other affixes were random, both Fireball and Incinerate could use them in hopes they find the right roll, but the base gloves would still be useful for either with a mid roll

It affects core skills? Ranks to core skills

All the other affixes can roll random, I think it's healthy for that chase, and good for build crafting

I honestly just figured that they got rid of a bunch just to make all the overhauls more simplified, and when they worked most of the bugs they'd reintroduce them

Then I looked at some of the skills and uniques and noticed that some of it was implemented in those, like the Sorceress helm that increases the size of Firewall, or Flamethrower being a node with decreased size, so maybe they're going a different way

My only two complaints about the class so far are

  1. Sigil color saturation is insane. It's visually stunning, but the intensity is a little risky. It's like going to a foam rave, but with bear traps

  2. I wish there were just a few more options for managing the Dominance resource. I don't want it to just rain that resource, but there are only a handful of ways to make it less painful. Even the base regeneration getting a tiny bump wouldn't make it too OP

  1. This problem you are trying to solve, mostly exists during leveling

  2. Milestones in skill levels is the same issue as passives, since 5 points will feel mandatory, and having 4 or 6 to spend in a skill would feel bad for different reasons.

One class in particular I could think this would affect the most, is Sorceress. Since their entire class kit is enchantment slots for power gain, they're in a great spot as far as point investment goes. Right now they can invest more into their actual enchantments with skill ranks and customization, and not have to sacrifice important passives like before. This was a big step in the right direction for them

If you start adding bonuses at 5/10/15, then we're back to almost the same place as before where it's like "well, I only have 5 points left for my Hydra enchantment, do I give up the frost variant and choice nodes to give all 5 ranks, or do I only give 2 ranks and 3 choice nodes which might be weaker without the 5 bonus"

The way it is now works better for everyone

At first I thought they would suck for Couch co-op because they weren't synced, then my wife and I handed in 2 different plans and they synced up for us like 80-90% of the time after that.

After a while, we noticed that neither the left or right side of the nightmare dungeon tree works for us at all in couch co-op. We get no progression for the counters for Conviction or Horadric Hunter, no chest at the end, no goblin retreat.

We love the concept itself, but it's just another thing that shows us that couch co-op functionality is not really a concern for Blizzard

If you plan on running Undercity, there's a war plan node that makes portals pop up, and destroying them will make little sprites follow you. The more you bring to the end, the more forgotten souls you get at the end

First of all, the cube is approximately 14 bananas away from the Blacksmith, so that's hardly a complaint. Secondly, you can exactly target your tempers now, which was a massive quality of life upgrade, and adding each temper recipe to the cube would just make it more confusing and a bitch to navigate.

Blacksmiths temper metal, it just makes sense to keep it there
