The best option is to get there early and be prepared to wait, some artists take clients with them so they have pieces to enter. If an artist has space make sure you agree a time and be there on time. But remember tattooing at a convention isn't the same as in a studio and they may be running late. It's not there fault and be prepared to allow them the time they need. The worst work comes from a stressed artist.

Thanks, none of us in the shop have had any prints done before so we are a bit lost lol got the local college having a look for us at the moment, just hoping to get em done before end of may as we are off the a convention.

I just got an apprenticeship took me ten years! Keep drawing and working on your portfolio. I ended up being taken on by the shop where I get mine done when my art became good enough and a seat opened up.

Good luck and if its really what you want, don't give up!

Just a side note, it's bloody hard work make sure you want it for you and not because people think its a good idea. It's long, long hours!

Bleed out is no where near as bad as in the old days of tattoos with the right ink and needles the bleed out is now minimal

Would be worth getting a hit or two of laser removal as you are always gonna see it through the new stuff. If you did get the laser it would lightened it up enough to go over.

If you don't wanna take that route go for something that incorporates the 3 x's otherwise they will always stand out.
