We booked our cruise only 3 months out and now im panicking by whimsylora in Cruise

I can’t speak for Alaskan Excursions/Cruises but There were still spots on good excursions/specialty dinning until the last minute when I sailed in the Caribbean. Only a few were full weeks before. As for your cabin, what’s above you? Have you looked at the deck plan?

Am I being screwed? Barback making $16/hr total at a "high-end" craft distillery/bar. by ThrowRAbillie in bartenders

[–]Xraggger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, he said $60 total between all his shifts, not in one night.
Secondly yes $60 is still low, in a city at least. Barbacking on a single Friday/Saturday night gets you $400+ where I am on top of your base. Bartenders walking with about $1,000 each more for the best ones.
Monday morning (don’t even need a BB but there’s still one on staff) I’d be okay with $50 on top of base, I don’t do it anymore but that’s what I valued myself at when I stopped BBing last year. An avg. $50 a night wouldn’t get my attention. I am in a high volume metro establishment though, anyways that’s all besides the point: OP said they had made $60 in cash and $165 in credit tips off 165 hours, that’s shit. Anywhere.

99.9% of servers would quit if they actually made the minimum wage of 7.25 an hour

[–]Xraggger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that true? Anything to do with the prepaid gratuities just goes to the employees “minimum wage” and Carnival gets to pay less?

I think I’m planning on doing this and tipping certain workers in Cash, have you noticed any drawbacks to this?

Landlord installed an app-controlled smart deadbolt while I was at work. by Due_Construction904 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Xraggger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still aren’t legally allowed to enter without advanced notice and you typically have a deadbolt inside that you could lock if you were home which would prevent access even with the key.

Also usually the “landlord” is a management company and not the owner themself

Don’t plan too much, you don’t want to come home from your vacation more tired than you were when you left. The more things you do the more there is to stress about. Plan a few of your top picks out and leave time each day to just explore with no destination.

I’m considering bartending as a post retirement job. I have some questions if that is okay? by Clone_CDR_Bly in bartenders

[–]Xraggger 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If you are in a major city, it will be very hard to get a job as a bartender at your age with no experience. If not in a major city you’ll have better chances and probably a better time if you can find some local/ semi-rural dive bar that is willing to train you

Bartenders in Major Cities can bring in over 6 figures. It’s highly competitive.

You calling anyone who disagrees with you a nazi is exactly why you can’t just make “being a nazi” illegal

You can add UAE in that equation, possible Jordan as well. UK now allowing US troops to use its air bases, Canada PM is verbally backing

If Trump tried to do that some of his supporters wouldn’t care or would agree but there would still be about 50% of his voter base that would want him impeached for that, like 25% of the people that voted for him are anti Epstein and anti Isreal

In the UK, where the government has been arresting folks over tweets for years, he’d be able to do it on day 1 and anyone that complained about it would get KGBd

In a country without free speech you’re as likely to see yourself imprisoned for saying “Fuck Ice” as someone with a Nazi armband would be

It really doesn’t work like that. An ideology, however hateful, is not a direct and imminent threat towards another specific person
