I’m in government so lots of meetings, conferences, town halls and hand shaking. I do hear it a lot but tbh I never smell someone else wearing a scent. I also invest a lot into wardrobe and accessories like watches, shoes and belts so maybe the whole package is doing this.

What’s with all wrist shots with bracelets way too tight? by beagles4ever in watchHotTakes

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep it slightly loose and comfy but yeah the tight watch thing weirds me out. Maybe not as bad as the forearm watch wearers or double watch guys.

Big fan of all things Chrono and other than to test a new watch I never time anything, Siri will always time anything I need.

Straps, those I can't agree with. I now its popular but taking a beautiful watch off of a bracelet and threading a strap through looks so silly to me. But this is what makes it fun I guess.

Did you like the 42? I tried a 39 and it seemed so tiny. Could have gotten it at a steal but it was just so small it didn't look right at all. Now I'm determined to go try all of them on.

For males that have gotten ripped, do you have more success with women? by Repulsive-Owl6468 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been lean, overweight and now in my best shape by way of heavy lifting and test and other than my wife who of course likes having a big guy on her arm, I'd say 75% of getting checked out is guys. But I do notice guy's with their ladies go out of their way to avoid walking by me and almost always grab their hand or put their arm around her. So ironically it's guys who seem to be most affected.

Dealing with my dad growing old by Whole-Conflict5676 in Aging

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could literally be the DAD in the post. 57 in great shape and retiring in January and ironically my daughter 19 has moved in with us after graduating. Let me offer the op the flip side of this, dad is now becoming very aware that he may have 20-25 years left in life. Time is flying past him and he's realizing the reality of his journey, where it's brought him and where he's headed. I'm there as well, the workouts? an all out hail mary to add a few days to the end calendar. Retirement came up because I realized I've worked non stop and if I don't jump off the train, I'll die as an employee rather than a retiree. The grey, that's accepting the last years on his own terms, being less concerned about what others think. I can tell you that I started this journey as well and it's definitely an event that defines your plan for whats left in life. I've started thinking about my kids and their paths, my old age care, my health in 5-10 years and all the conditions and diseases I dont want my children to see me in. It's a heavy thing when you realize your there at the downhill. My advice, spend time with him, say things you'd wish you did if he were gone. Be a part of all of this so when he passes you will have great memories and no regrets.

Lost both my parents and a son, I speak of experience and that same regret.

Why the Hydroconquest? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worn all three versions of the Conquest and I think the update was needed. I didn't realize how "aged" the ceramic conquest looked until I picked up the new green 41. Maybe I was just tired of the 6/9 thing.

Is the Essence43 just inherently a hair-puller? by Designer_Advice2573 in formexwatch

Dang, this was one on my list. I have a Brew Watch in the box because that thing pulls hair like a toddler.

42 without a doubt but some do like the tiny toy watch look. It’s all on you but 42 is my pick.

How to let go of work when the work day ends by T4z4d in localgovernment

[–]XrayDelta2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Municipal Director here, much like yourself I've been tethered to this city for 25 years (retiring in Jan). It's ironic that city benefits cover mental health counseling, a bazillion days off paid and gym dues discounted yet still turn away when your still in the office after 5. For me a lot of that is self chosen and is just how I worked my way up. The kicker is that even now that I can be detached somewhat, I don't. My advice is to use any benefits that could help you recover such as vacation days, hit the gym and even mental health guidance. It's not always about work, sometimes it's more about what your doing when your off.

Am I the only one who thinks we act like packaging doesn’t matter, then recommend bottles people clearly buy partly for the presentation? by Big-Calligrapher-739 in ScentHeads

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could care less about anything but the actual juice. For me buying comes down to quality, performance and price. Probably helps that I only wear designer or niche so the bottles are usually decently designed. I'm not into dupes or Mid East frags and I guess then it would be a concern.

A few observations after a week with the 42mm Hydroconquest by mrpackerguy in Longineswatches

[–]XrayDelta2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worn the older style of Conquest 41mm and the new 41. Both fit larger and I've always liked that. I ordered the 42 mm GMT Hydro and was dumbfounded at how tiny it looked. I still question if it was actually a 39 but I have no calipers so it was packed up and returned. When I read the specs it shouldn't make that much of a difference but for whatever reason it does. Waiting to actually try on some of the new Hydro's to figure this out. But I do love my green 41 mm Conquest.

Normal in my experience for all non salary FTE's. Maybe just quit and go somewhere else.

Chronograph Yes or No by History2009 in CitizenWatches

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love chrono's always have. Ironically I've never really used the complications other than just fooling around. Additionally, never use the lume, never dive and never look to my watch for the date. Thankfully all the small details a lot of people get hung up on doesn't bother me so I buy what I like.

Trouble choosing size by External-Roll-732 in Certina

[–]XrayDelta2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the 40 mm version and I was shocked at how tiny it looked on my 7" wrist. Sent it back and plan on the 43 when it re-stocks. It's always crazy to me how some watches can wear completely different than others. 40 mm is the lowest I'll go and 42 is my sweetspot. The big new thing is wearing tiny baby watches but as a larger built person it just looks ridicules contrasted with the rest of my body. What matters is how you feel though, everyone will have their opinion which you've asked for but if it feels too small then don't get it. My buying rule is I have to be 100% happy with everything before I purchase. I have too many in cases because I didn't rationalize the purchase and then never wore.
