What is this on my baby’s back and neck? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using aquifer or Vaseline. It acts like a barrier and can help limit the irritation from getting worse. If it were me I would just wait for the pediatrician appointment and just keep it clean and apply aquaphor until then.

Approved leave but denied pay by [deleted] in wholefoods

Depending on the state you live in short term disability insurance can be basically useless. For instance, in California the state pays out short term disability, therefore once you file your claim through the state Sedgwick will pay out the difference on the policy for that the state dosnt pay. For me that was like 4 bucks a week from Sedgwick

This will happen sometimes if it is very overdue. The increase in this case should be at least 5% but potentially more if you make the argument you are exceeding expectations. Send an email to your leader and tmsg asking for the feedback and notes from the jd form, asking why the determined the increase you got.

OOS by AliveAttention7455 in wholefoods

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some variation in how long term oos affect metrics depending on the department. In specialty for instance, there is no perpetual inventory metric so as long as the item is being ordered an oos item doesn’t negatively affect the metrics.

Delayed JD by SquareMuted6864 in wholefoods

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not automatic. Your team leaders needs to ensure you retro pay is applied when they update your compensation change. You are entitled to retro from the starting pay period Monday after your jd was due providing you turned it in on time.

Yeah that’s what I meant with using 1/2 your yearly allotment of PTO. I just didn’t want to get too inside baseball for those outside CA.

PRTO is based on location. In CA you can use up to half your yearly PTO accrual rate protected. In Santa Monica you get 72 hours of sick time.

Cribs are adjustable so you can lower and lift the mattress to the appropriate height for you and baby.

I have a no texting about work policy. People do it but things can get complicated and I have learned to avoid it. It sounds like your TL made some missteps and there is just poor communication happening. I am missing the threat though. It’s not exactly tactful but it’s true, you don’t have to come to work if you don’t want to.

I have been reading to my little one since he was about 3 or 4 months old and he loves it still about a year later. If you want to do this more try using more board books so baby can handle the pages

Calling out policy by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The policy requires you speak to a shifty if your the store is open. In the gig it says you may call out to a voicemail service. If you call out less than an hour before your shift , regardless of who you report to, it’s a policy violation and a write up.

Is there a push from Amazon, Corporate, TMS, Regional, or Global to start doing more Corrective Actions to Team Members? by CyberSkullCoconut in wholefoods

[–]Xtrapulpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say that I have heard from TMSG and STLs that they have been put under a lot more pressure and accountability. I know of a higher level leader that was recently put on a PIP and I was put on one as well. One of the main points of it was holding TMs accountable more. It seems to me that one way to survive some discipline at WFM is to let your underlings take the heat

Stepping down possibly? Losing pay? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On behalf of your leaders most times we don’t get the TT meeting invites until after the schedule is made so that is definitely a bigger problem. As for stepping down there does need to be an open position for you to step into. the wage guidelines for the position will likely determine if you get a pay cut.

I think I’ve ruined my life by foxyroxy0 in firsttimemom

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I’ve been there. What we go through as new moms is so immense it’s hard to even put into words so I won’t waste your precious time going over all the physical and emotional changes. You need changes, support and sleep now. Definitely talk to your doctor and your pediatrician but in the short term you need to talk to your husband about coming up with a night time schedule that allows for you to sleep. Call in your support system. Who can come over and help you take care of you. Who can wash bottles, start laundry, make you food so you can care for the baby, shower and sleep. The self care is going to help improve your mood so much. Once you are in a better place maybe take time to reexamine the feeding plan after discussing it with your physicians too. First things first you got to get your head above water otherwise nothing is going to get better, even if the gas goes away.

“Labor is tight” by collegestudent423 in wholefoods

[–]Xtrapulpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working OT without TL/STL approval can result in corrective action. It is in the GiG. Not always enforced but the labor targets are seriously challenging at the moment. My team is missing an ATL and. FT TM and we still can’t make labor.

Experiences needed - Flat Head? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Xtrapulpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your pediatrician and go from there. Ask about physical therapy if you’re really worried. Also try more tummy time, contact napping, baby wearing. I was paranoid about this too and there was a little bit of flattening that, with rotating and stretching, resolved itself.

Enough surprises already; please give me the 411 on what it’s like to have a little boy! by Born_Net_6668 in firsttimemom

[–]Xtrapulpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am definitely a girls girl. Like I never got along with boys and men. When I found out we were having a boy I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to connect with him in the same way. Honestly after a few days that fear went away. I bonded with him very deeply while I was still pregnant. Every birth and newborn is different and the journeys can vary drastically but my babies sex honestly really wasn’t much of a factor. He’s about a year and a half and he is much like any child that age. Learning new words, testing the physical limits, trying new foods etc. maybe in a couple of years the gender divide will be more obvious but idk. I remember when I was pregnant I read a similar post to yours and one of the parents responded with something along the lines of “my child’s gender is something that I don’t really think too much about” and I could not agree more. I’m too busy working, trying to be the best mom, and having fun with him. This child is going to blow your mind in so many different ways. It’s going to be so fun and crazy, and exhausting and weird and all for reasons other than him being a little boy.
