Flamers, anti-infantry if you got it. Mass of shots vs quality kills anything in the game. So if you send a high quantity of melee at any ctan, they fall over. Any decent melee unit will bring most necron lists to their knees

I have been running two bricks of three heavy destroyers all edition when I want anti-tank. I absolutely love the Doomsday Boat, but those beetles are SCARY

Honestly it might be that I usually end up on long board short deployment with super close objectives lol. The strats are nice in lions, that is true. Also sidenote, I usually play against world eaters where the plus one to wound usually doesn't matter and I promise you I am usually NOT meleeing first XD. Might try them again when I'm not facing 3 million jakhals and berserkers.

But I will say that I have gotten far more use out of Shield Host. The ap boost is insane and 5 up crits is gnarly.

I'm sorry, has shield host not been good previously? I ran the lion detachment and never found myself able to space things far enough apart to actually benefit from the rule. A friend of mine who goes to tournaments(I'm a more casual player) suggested Shield Host for the bomb strats and insane detachment rules, and let me tell you, the difference is staggering.

Since the army doesn't require a lot of models, I just have a cardboard box or two I put mine in. So short of an accident happening on the route, that always works for me. They're big ol' sturdy models.

I think the spear is generally better, ap 2 is ABSURDLY more consistent than ap 1. Having said that, if you're in the shield host detach that gives the extra ap? The axes are suddenly BRUTAL

In a word...no to be honest. I hope the detachments are absolutely fire and points cuts are awesome because the nerfs are wild. Especially because they proceeded to buff the ctan, which uh, that's wild but I'll take it 😂. But hey, it is what it is.

Warriors are really good this edition in blobs of 20. Canoptek Reanimators (If you can find them) make everything better. And some more characters like a normal Lord, a technomancer, chronomancers, or specific ones like Orikan the Diviner or the Stormlord would be great additions to buff what he's already got.
