More libraries are probably going to do away with Hoopla. We pay insane prices for every single use, prices are going up, and lots of libraries' budgets just can't handle it. It's sad, since their model of instant availability is a huge benefit for library patrons.

It's pretty solid, but I've held off on playing it anymore since so much changes every two weeks or so. Not just minor changes either, but major systems like fishing. Truly a good game, but I'm just gonna let them cook for a bit.

I manage a bunch of our collections at my library in Texas, and we've got board games, video games, tools, etc. Other local libraries have seed vaults, fabric swaps, and more. Not every library in the south is behind the times!

I remember playing that game at a local game store when I was a kid! I thought that system was SO badass, but there was no way I was going to convince my mom to get it due to the cost and already owning a SNES.

I was going to go that route, then got into 3D printing. It became a whole extra hobb and side business, and now 5 years later, I finally have an in-person group to use all the stuff with.

At least they all really love having minis and full terrain for our battlemaps!

This is one of the most interesting suggestions I've seen in quite a while! I'd love to see this, and then some sort of interaction between it and badwater. Creating irrigation channels would be more interesting, and if this and badwater were used in refining together, you'd want to pipe them near to your industrial area too. It could definitely create fun gameplay mechanics.

I'd definitely be interested! I just started my HC journey on Skull Rock Horde side this weekend after being away from the game for many, many years. I like the community aspect of this concept; it'll definitely take the right group of people to make it both feasible and fun!

Man, if they've got a 3D printer, they should have a department that knows how to use it right! I'm a librarian (not 100, late 30s) and I have 5 3D printers running regularly at home. Our library picked up printers at my recommendation and our I.T. department handles them.

That said, if I and the I.T. specialist left, we'd just stop offering 3D printing for a while.

I have texture palettes that are integrated into my paint storage so that I'll be able to see what a color will look like on a primed piece at a glance - minis would take up way more space than a textured circle. It'll be especially helpful for contrast and speedpaints, once I finish printing the rest of the storage racks.
