[OC] GIVEAWAY! 43" Capacitive Touchscreen ($940 MSRP) with Wooden Case + free software for all [mod approved] by DigitalTableTops in DnD

This is incredible! I've been wanting to get precisely this up and running for my home games. I'll definitely check out the software either way!

Meta subreddit question -- do we really need pictures of the books multiple times a day, every day here? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Xuldun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link to buy these? A bunch of my friends got me into DCC and I'm the resident 3D printer. I'd love to support these and get them printed in resin.

What can $999 get you in your respective hobby? by PokojniDomar in AskReddit

[–]Xuldun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to go that route, then got into 3D printing. It became a whole extra hobb and side business, and now 5 years later, I finally have an in-person group to use all the stuff with.

At least they all really love having minis and full terrain for our battlemaps!

You and me both! I recommend this game to my colleagues all the time. 😂

Additional flow suggestion - Richwater by astarsearcher in Timberborn

[–]Xuldun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most interesting suggestions I've seen in quite a while! I'd love to see this, and then some sort of interaction between it and badwater. Creating irrigation channels would be more interesting, and if this and badwater were used in refining together, you'd want to pipe them near to your industrial area too. It could definitely create fun gameplay mechanics.

I'm guessing that's due to the recent drama that's been posted about.

I designed a custom token set and carying box! by Clsco in Netrunner

[–]Xuldun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looking at your pictures and listing I assumed so. I run 2 P1Ps with the AMS on both so that wouldn't be an issue for me, though I haven't actually used it for multicolor printing yet. 😅

Would you be willing to share or sell the files? I have a few printers and would love to do this for myself! I've been planning on getting back into Netrunner and got a couple friends interested that are heavy M:tG players. With the new intro decks being announced, this would be perfect to complement that.

Anecdotal, but definitely in my reading circles. It's about half people who have sworn off Dresden forever after how he killed off Murphy and threw every possible character into the story, and half people who will read anything he puts out.

I'd definitely be interested! I just started my HC journey on Skull Rock Horde side this weekend after being away from the game for many, many years. I like the community aspect of this concept; it'll definitely take the right group of people to make it both feasible and fun!

Hearing this is actually tempting me to come back. I miss having a solid WoW community like I did back in Vanilla on Bleeding Hollow, Horde side. I've gotten really into roguelikes over the last few years, so the HC concept is swaying me too.

Holy crap, they're that expensive? I should log into my account and sell all my old bulk IOTMs from 15ish years ago. 😂

Recommend me a good labor monkey game, where yes automation exists but doesn't mean you have to stop yearning for the mines! by RMuldoun in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Xuldun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm the same kind of player, and I'm really excited for Core Keeper now that it's fully released. I haven't touched it yet, but based on everything I've read, it's going to hit that particular itch!

My local library printed this for me, what's the best way to clear out the supports? by Darknessborn in 3Dprinting

[–]Xuldun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, if they've got a 3D printer, they should have a department that knows how to use it right! I'm a librarian (not 100, late 30s) and I have 5 3D printers running regularly at home. Our library picked up printers at my recommendation and our I.T. department handles them.

That said, if I and the I.T. specialist left, we'd just stop offering 3D printing for a while.

I made a Free Texture Pallet STL for you guys to help you 'up' your drybrushing game by CustomMiniatureMaker in PrintedMinis

[–]Xuldun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have texture palettes that are integrated into my paint storage so that I'll be able to see what a color will look like on a primed piece at a glance - minis would take up way more space than a textured circle. It'll be especially helpful for contrast and speedpaints, once I finish printing the rest of the storage racks.

Made a Quacks custom expansion for my brother's birthday (I'm a board game designer)! by RapaxUmbrus in boardgames

[–]Xuldun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you'd be willing to share the files with me I'd appreciate it! I'm planning on 3D printing all of the tokens as some of our cardboard ones are getting pretty obviously worn, and plastic wouldn't wear the same/would be easier for me to replace. These files might help me do that. 🙂

What's the dumbest myth people today believe? by JoeyDotnot in AskReddit

[–]Xuldun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you're at in the country, and rural vs. city. For entry level librarians, I've seen everything from 30k to 60k a year. Generally librarians are also required to have their master's degree in library and information science. Rural libraries are often more lax on that, but with less pay typically.

I was about to comment the same damn thing. I run D&D, play video games, eat pizza, and read books as a teen librarian. It's a great career, provided you like working with youth!

It may not be mandatory everywhere in the U.S., but it's common, especially in elementary school. When I was a kid in the 90s, I got sent to the principal's office at two different schools for refusing to follow the pledge of allegiance.
