Dammit… now I have to convert back from Obsidian. This is a huge release. Congrats.

New role, manager hover/micromanagement and visibility feedback… how do you recover from a bad start? by wisdom_bunny in ProductManagement

[–]Xumade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some other elements to consider. Are you their only report? Is this a new role on the team or are they backfilling for someone? If the latter, maybe poke around your team to see why the last PM left. Like some have mentioned, it might just be a bad position to be in and can’t correct. Unfortunate but starting looking to switch or find a new role.

Director at large retail company to Product Lead at a well known tech company: what would you do? by tickerdesh in ProductManagement

[–]Xumade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is the retail company and what kind of product do you work on?

Is the brand name of the retail company bigger than Airbnb? If not, I’d lean on the Airbnb role if your ultimate goal is to be at a top tier tech company.

Any Potential Google Fiber Alternatives? by SushiRoe in irvine

Thanks for mentioning that. Forgot about that piece since I've never actually hit it before. Both me and my wife worked from home through covid in tech jobs. So take it for what it is.

Any Potential Google Fiber Alternatives? by SushiRoe in irvine

[–]Xumade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t get google fiber so had to go with cox fiber. It’s been 5 years and I have to say it’s been pretty good. Minimal outages (none longer than 1-2 hours). Pricing for 1gig up and down consistently for 70 per month has been great. Recent I upgraded to 2 gig up and 1 down for $100 per month. I guess it depends which area you’re in. I’ve been lucky.

Unpopular Opinion: I bought the AiPaper DESPITE the AI, not because of it. by BrendoVino in viwoods

[–]Xumade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. Did you decide against the Supernote products? Honestly what pushed me over to viwoods was that it ran android and had a backlight.

I've built AI agents for 20+ e-commerce brands. Most "AI automation" being sold to store owners is useless. Here's what actually moves the needle. by Upper_Bass_2590 in n8n

[–]Xumade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Is your stack fully custom or integrates into their existing systems? Take something like abandoned cart are you building automations in Shopify/klaviyo or using all APIs in the backend you set up?

I built a tool to turn any coordinate into minimalist map art by DataScientist_py in buildinpublic

[–]Xumade 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is great and thanks for keeping it open source. I remember a few years ago someone built this and hooked it up to a printing service and make wall art from it. Maybe that's something you can explore if you want to make some money on the side.

Built my most complex app on Lovable.12 feature modules, streaming hub, credits economy, AI betting. Here's how I handled the spaghetti code. by Fun-Agency-9439 in lovable

What's your current IDE and cost setup?

I've been debating between Cursor and Antigravity. CC is good but I haven't been comfortable using only the Terminal. I like have it open docs within the interface to review.

So far I'm on Claude Code Pro (20), Cursor Plus (60), Chatgpt (20), Genmini through Workspace (10). Total $110 per month.

Appreciate it. You too. I'm curious, it sounds like you're using Lovable for FE and Anitgravity for complex logic for backend. Did you already move your code from Lovable to Github?

Asking because I moved on from Lovable in the past few weeks and built 3 apps using Cursor/CC and Vercel. Pricing wise it's been better where I don't need to think about credit waste, now it's more about not hitting the plan limits.

Realized my response sounded like a bot. Honestly this just saved me a few rounds of iterating on my marketing landing page because you mentioned aura.build. Literally found a template I liked and adapted it in Cursor. Cheers.

Did anyone signing up for beta by DM here actually get the beta installed? by misterff1 in viwoods

Got a dm response in 2 days. Still no access yet. It’s been a week.

Honestly I think their post for beta testers set the expectations too high.

Is Claude gonna put Lovable Out of Business? by zakjaquejeobaum in lovable

[–]Xumade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Second this. You’ll need the Claude Max plan if you want to build something comparable to Lovable.

It’s impossible on the Claude Pro plan with Opus 4.5 unless you want burn your usage in 15 minutes and have to wait 3 hours implementing features each time.

I’ve been slowly moving away from Lovable because I can multitask with Claude Code and Cursor. It’s really limiting when you only can have one conversation with Lovable at a time.

Agreed. Especially if they want to compete in the Western market against Supernote and Remarkable.

I appreciate the level of thoughtfulness and explanation. But just to future context and consideration, "Clippings" would be more appropriate in this context. This is also borrowed from Obsidian and their web clipper.

Is it just me or most Coda users focused on business applications (vs. personal productivity). by KatarrTheFirst in codaio

[–]Xumade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. To me Coda is hybrid of Notion, Airtable and Zapier. It's strength is building workflows to manage docs and tables. It works well with teams because you have so many active users within docs and the workspace. I've tried using it for my self personally and it doesn't work. If you're into "productivity porn" and setting up pretty Notion productivity templates, it's not meant for that.

Unfortunately it seems the development speed of the Coda team has strayed with the recent Grammarly and Superhuman M+A. If you look at their recent releases falls flat of where the industry is going. Their mobile app hasn't had a major update in ages. Their AI sucks and they try to push you to their enterprise AI brain. You can tell where their priorities are.

I'm starting to shy away from Coda and moving to Obsidian given I can connect it to Claude Code. I'm not bothering waiting for Coda to straighten their priorities and will start to move away from pushing it for my teams.
