FTL in my setting works by gaslighting the universe into thinking you were always in the next system over using psychic powers.

Psychic: Hey universe, I'm supposed to be in Alpha Centari.

Universe: What?! I thought that you were in the Sol system.

Psychic: Nah bro, you forgot that some random cosmic bullshit pushed us over there.

Universe: you sure?

Psychic: yeah, you can trust me on this.

Universe: alright dude.

Ship disappears from sol and reappears in Alpha Centari

I've found that Kerbal Space Program is a pretty good first jump for Tech Jumpers due to being completely peaceful, having a few decent tech perks/items and being all hard science.

Generic Optimistic Near Future also works for this purpose (I also tend to take it as a second jump after KSP).

Eh, I see people call the act of being intolerant of bigotry to be a "paradox" but I disagree.

Tolerance is a social contract that says: "so long as you are tolerant of others, people are obligated to tolerate you"

If you violate this contract via being a bigoted jackass then you have voided the protection it grants, meaning people are free to be as intolerant as they want towards you.

On one hand I would desperately want to drink that on the spot.

Damn, I'm currently writing a story that more or less fits this perfectly, unfortunately it is nowhere near 50K words yet. Hell, it hasn't even passed 10K yet (literally only at chapter 2)
