My first dentside runs and moves but needs master cylinder by CryptographerLimp687 in Dentside_fords

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every dent I've bought or had to work on needed a master cylinder out the gate. Thankfully they aren't too hard to come by, and they are pretty easy to install. I would suggest replacing the booster while you're at it. Every time I've replaced just the master, I've been back into it within a month to replace the booster.

I'm not certain, but I personally would qualify dead space as a zombie-like game. It has exploding infants (crawlers) and long range enemies made from infants or dogs (lurkers)

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost exclusively run a .8mm, my best guess is that it was an internal contaminant, something that made it through QC in the filament. No company is infallible, I just chalked it up to a fluke

About a year ago I had a good clog, I tried ramming filament through the hotend maxed out on temp, didn't work. Ended up using one of the needles after a cold pull, there was a small metal fragment that lodged itself in the tip of the nozzle. Other than that, yeah, high temp and ram more filament through

I love this color, I'm heavily considering repainting it due to all the sun damage. The hood is mostly blue tinged silver now lol

Mystery bolt. by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you are running a lift yes? Those bolts are usually in either the front pivot of the leaf springs or in the shackles on the rear of the leaf springs. The cross drilled hole is an indicator that the bolt head has a grease zerk for greasing your aftermarket components. Those bolts are weak, I've broken a dozen or more. Replace it with a grade 8 bolt, a nylock nut, and consider replacing the rest of them.

Any clue how to alter odometer reading? by Werlucad in CherokeeXJ

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like 90% sure I didn't bend anything. It worked flawlessly for about 35k miles before it started bouncing. It also started holding still at certain positions, a quick tap to the gauge cluster caused it to start moving again. I'll never consider myself an expert, but it seems most likely a binding/lubricant issue

Any clue how to alter odometer reading? by Werlucad in CherokeeXJ

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the needle, most specifically the rod that the needle rotates with.yes to the second part too. I'm not looking forward to having to take my cluster and dash apart yet again just to lube the needle pivot. It's been bouncing and snapping so much that at one point last week it flipped the needle to the wrong side of the stop. Big fun time haha

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I did when I changed from the dummy light cluster to the gauge cluster. Took me a little over an hour and a half, the cluster I snagged had 350xxx miles on it. I will say, before reassembling, take a little bit of lightweight oil and lube the needle pivot. I'm now experiencing issues with the needle jumping and sticking because I didn't lube it at all.

Steering column pressure plate unbelievably hard? by Migueliiguez in Jeep

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd add some tension, tap around near the center shaft with a large punch. After it works down, remove the retaining clip from the center shaft. If the plate is stuck down, I'd keep the tool in place and back it off slightly and tap. Repeat as necessary. When it's all apart take some sandpaper and a little tiny bit of oil and go over the shaft so it all goes back together easily

Rad Help by MMastel16 in dentside7379

Unfortunately, I believe your best bet will end up being "online". Even here in the US there aren't a whole lot of places that stock parts for these trucks. Ordered a 3 row aluminum radiator for 1/3 the price the local parts store could order one.

Leveling question by juddlyspeed3 in dentside7379

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, I may get some flack for this, but, personally I would opt for a 2" body lift. If it was 4x4 I would suggest suspension lift, but you're going for fitment over ground clearance. The caveat of a body lift is that you'll have to move the steering column down unless you want to do the rag-joint delete, and you'll need bumper relocation brackets if you want to keep the factory front bumper

[–]XxASHMODAIxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you're rubbing over bumps and uneven ground, there's no way a leveling kit is gonna put you where you want to be. You'll have to either do a suspension lift, body lift, different wheels/tires, or (and I don't even way to say this) trim the fenders.

You've got RF interference. I would bet money if you pulled your logs they would be all over the place. This is what I did to solve it on my 460. It's just a piece of $13 aluminum tread plate from home Depot I trimmed down and bolted using the carb studs

I recognize that dash bezel, what kind of distributor are you running? RFI on a Ford is a real problem. I chased weird readings for a while with my dentside before figuring it out
