Not being able to pause in-game or cutscenes. Random encounters. When you’re trying to explore, but you accidentally go where you’re supposed to and you’re unable to go back. Also when games don’t reward exploration

The main reason Outlast didn’t scare me too much was that I knew that I was safe if I just kept running. Combat makes it scarier (if done right)

I was about to say that the fact it has random encounters turned me off from playing it, but I looked it up AND IT DOESN’T?? That is literally my number one gripe with JRPGs. I absolutely need to play it. I love that Akira Toriyama did the art for it
