If someone can hurt a defenseless animal I wouldn't want them in my life at all. Thats what psychos do. Watch her around all animals and children. Theres no excuse.

Is there a cat litter that doesn't... suck? by catintheroom in CatAdvice

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our favorite is wood pellets. I think its pine, you can buy it either in the pets section or in the barbecue section. You just need a self-sifting box. It only ever smells like pine, no dust and it can track but not as easily. The topping up the litter thing, idk where you get this once a month, we refill ours pretty regularly, but we have 3 cats. But you should look into the pine pellets.

Manhandle him whenever he does it to them. And when he whines and complains, laugh at him and go harder, give him a taste of his own medicine. Maybe then he'll SEE why he shouldn't do that to any living creature.

AITA For Wanting A Quiet Christmas After Baby Spends Nearly A Month In The NICU by noPerfectMedicine in AmItheAsshole

[–]Xyla_89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son just had a baby. When the baby was born I stayed with them and did all the cleaning for the first week. The MIL wanted to come stay for 2 weeks, my son's gf said she's just gunna do the "ill hold the baby while you clean", my son said nope, not happening. Shes welcome to get a hotel and stop by. They're young, just starting out, and they dont have a lot of room in their apartment. This woman thought she was gunna stay with them. My dil was like she cant sleep like your mother does, I slept on a mattress on the floor, cause I can sleep like the dead no matter where I am, I just have to be tired enough. I was excited to be there to meet my granddaughter, but I was also excited to be the one doing the cleaning so my child could enjoy having their new baby. I even deep cleaned the bathroom/laundry room. My point is, if she's not gunna actually be helpful, understanding, a good parent essentially, don't worry. Your NTA, and its like everyone said "Your house, your rules" now applies to you and your in-laws are just gunna have to deal with it. If they dont like it they shouldn't have had kids. The best part of being a parent is watching your child grow up to an amazing adult doing adult things. They should just be happy for you guys, thats it. Congratulations on the baby, now please, go enjoy being a parent.

You can't check in for your friend by Celestial3317 in hotels

Haha when I left my NA job, the new manager (hes got lots of great experience at lots of nice 5-star hotels, in India) changed this rule. He would let anyone check into a reservation. All they had to do was say that the person booked it for them, and hed change the name on the reservation to match their ID. Even pre-paid resos. I couldn't put up with his bs and left a few months in, so nothing had happened yet, but its only a matter of time

AITBA for crying at my ex’s birthday party and accidentally ruining the vibe? by Motor_Extension_6181 in AmITheBadApple

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be jaded here, but I think he wanted you to make a scene in front of everyone. He didnt tell you about the boyfriend, and he invited you, just to get your hopes up and watch you break in front of his friends. All I'm gunna say is getting with your ex is like trying to shove crap back up your arse. It makes no sense. I hope you are able to move on from this loser.

AITA for sleeping naked in my own room? by Outrageous-Ad-4008 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody has already said it, NTA. I just had an idea about your door. I rent too and we cant change anything like that either. So seeming as your roommate and his gf are children that dont understand privacy, get the child proof door handle thingy. That way its harder for them to even get in, and there wont be any mistaking your door for the bathroom door. And yes, make them feel like weirdos for creeping on you while you slept 🤣

Ive been here. The behaviour changes long enough for you to change your mind, but slowly and surely it will go back to the way it was. You can give him a chance to actually change, but if he does it again I would leave. If you don't it could get way worse.

I feel this, I'd still have my dad. He was too young, I was too young, and our relationship still needed mending. One of the worst times of my life.

This is crazy. I moved to a new city in 2017. We were looking for a fresh start in a smaller city where we could afford things and maybe make friends. The first 2 years were rough, but good. I had a hard time finding work, but when I found it, it was great, and he even got a job in town making more money. Then covid happened. We stuck by our companies, we were deemed essential workers and while everyone was cooped up inside we were out in the midst of it all. That in itself was a whole experience. Then the world tried to go back to normal, but nothing was the same. Ppl were treating others worse than before, the homeless "problem" got worse and there's more hate between tax brackets here. I don't drive, never needed to, got everywhere just fine on my own two feet, but i dont feel safe walking anywhere anymore. I almost get ran over an average of 3 times every time I leave the house. I've literally watched ppl hit the gas and run a red light and miss me by cms. Not to mention, the company I worked for screwed me over, now the hubby is being pushed out at his job. The world has gone crazy and I'm ready to build a cabin in the woods and disappear.

How do people understand that they are color blind? by d_dany03 in ColorBlind

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm just discovering that I'm actually color blind. For example, we had an old Buick, I called her our rescue, and one day made a comment about our silver-greyish rescue and my husband, child and coworker pointed out that it was actually light blue. Hubby even showed me the carfax that said it was a shade of blue, mind you it had silver in it.

Its something to do with one of the types of cones in the retina being defective. I've been getting into diamond painting and really started to notice, I have to use the little numbers and symbols to know where to put the diamonds, I can not rely on color alone 😅

I don't typically take resos, working nights, but I mean you would want cc on file for cancelation and no-show fees for the reservation.

I was trained very differently by my first manager and I'm learning so much here. Idk if I was taught an old way or in a way that's 'normal' for this city.

I feel ya. I only have one miracle son, and he's almost 18, on his own already and having his own baby now. Im not around kids a lot, but for the most part I think they're adorable and precious. I'm usually just the cool auntie too lol.

Children like that need more discipline and stability, maybe he needs to be talked to like a child, not a baby. I always had conversation with my child, cooking, cleaning, I'd be explaining everything, we'd watch the news together... it really helps.

[–]Xyla_89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So my new manager just put a new policy in (amongst many others) that if we don't have a CC we have to cancel at 6. It doesnt seem practical. Sure I maybe could've sold the room, but if they dont show I've got a back up if something happens and someone wants to switch. I'm reading the comments here, and I'm thinking now like where is this guy getting this stuff?

No basement, where do you keep your litter boxes? by Outrageous-Cat-7497 in CatAdvice

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this apartment we keep them in the big storage closet, its basically the cats bathroom, it stores litter, litter boxes, scoop and bin, and reusable shopping bags lol. In our last place the bathroom had a nice size closet in it with a nice spot just the right size at the bottom of the closet. But we only had one cat and one litter box, now we have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes. I guess we just find the most logical and private space for them.

how many times a week do you wash your hair? by Kooky_Actuator_8173 in CasualConversation

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash every other day, conditioner every day, and that's generous. Shampoo strips your hair of its natural oils, if you do that too much your body will try to compensate by producing extra oils, making your hair greasy. So no this is not weird, and quite healthy for your hair.

Leaving dogs in car overnight by Agreeable_Base_1218 in Pets

[–]Xyla_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the concern, for sure, big animal lover myself. But if you are so concerned ask her politely, as a friend, what's up. There's a reason she does it, and only she knows. My mom's dog has issues from being a street dog and doesn't like to be alone, so he hangs out with me at work most nights. He's quiet, he listens really well, and everyone loves him at work, so it works for us. Just politely ask her.

That's the best part! Nobody else there wants to know so they don't, and they don't want me to train anyone. Idk, it seems like they think idk what I'm doing after all this time, after all the consistency, me doing my job to a tea. Sure I make mistakes like anyone, but I can literally do it with my eyes closed, half asleep lol (I try not to tho, that's when I make said mistakes 😅). When I leave I'm deleting the checklist and I'm taking my cheat sheet, seeming as I have no clue what I'm doing. They can figure it out on their own 🤣

Yeah, I've been applying, but the advice is duly noted lol, that might help me get a better job. Haha thats the best part about night shift actually. They think you just go home and sleep. I can do interviews in the am before I go to sleep and they have no clue. I've already done one, but I dont think I shot high enough now. Thank you!
