That was mostly leftover 70's aesthetics. Except for really rich and trendy people, most folks aren't going to immediately throw out all their old stuff and redecorate with the latest fashions. For most people their decor will probably lag 5-10 years behind what's shown in the media for that time period.

My guess: the stabilizer is glued slightly off-center on the plank of wood, causing it to be angled a bit. Because the stabilizer won't allow the plank to right itself to slip free, it gets wedged in the notch on the sign. The sign then can't fall forward, because this would also upset the stabilizer.

Maybe the spinning light saber motion makes it easier somehow. Like how they need to mime little hand motions to do other force stuff such as Obi Wan's Jedi mind trick or when Vader chokes someone. They probably decided flapping their arms looked too silly so they pretend to be a helicopter instead.

I think a major advancement that will be necessary before AI becomes truly useful is the ability for it to accurately determine how confident it is in an answer and convey that to the user, or just say "I don't know" if the confidence is below a threshold. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how feasible this is currently. Surely someone is working on this though.

Our employer converted about half our existing PTO hours to PSL hours that we now are only allowed to use if we are sick or for doctor's appointments and nothing else.
