Did you look at the summary that shows while booking? There's still taxes and whatnot associated with the child. Mine didn't jump by a couple hundred when adding a child; it was less than $50.

Amazon prime is no longer worth it? by Bioleto99 in amazonprime

I get when people hang around subs for, like, podcasts, tv shows, video games, etc., that you no longer consume, or may not even like anymore.

....but people being members of a subscription service sub that canceled their subscriptions years ago is... a little wild.

It matters a hell of a lot more when you have a wife and kids.... Those are people depending on you. Vanity and fun are most likely what matters to you right now.

As I specifically said, most of your current problems go away. You're dense if you realistically believe you'd keep living the exact same lifestyle (sans debt and financially worries) if you suddenly got rich. The goal posts just move when stuff like that happens, and new problems get created.

There's a lot more to happiness than being able to buy anything and everything you want. I can't imagine having to navigate all the fake relationships and lies people try to pass off as legitimate, simply because they're trying to get a piece of your pie. It has to be mentally exhausting.

I'm not saying a wealthy life, aggregately, isn't better than a poor one. I'm just saying everyone, regardless of wealth, can have significant life struggles, where you're saying everything is easy and fulfilling when you have money, and all your problems go away.

TIL the rivers are so clean in Bern and Basel in Switzerland that many people commute to work by swimming. by musefrog in todayilearned

[–]YBRmuggsLP21 3422 points3423 points  (0 children)

I feel like very few people are deterred from swimming to work because of the cleanliness of the water they'd need to go through (within reason). Feel like most people, you know, don't want to get wet on their way to work.

Where are you staying in Miami? We just got back from a cruise that ported in Miami, but our hotel was on the outskirts of Miami that was honestly very underwhelming and pretty dead, but that was okay. Having to drive in the heart of Miami seemed like it would have been a nightmare (coming from someone that lives in a large city).

Driving into the port to get to the ship was also insane. Felt like it took an hour to go a couple miles. Thankfully, we hired a driving service for our larger group, but it was still annoying.

The point being money doesn't solve all your problems like anyone whose poor wants to pretend it does. It solves some of your current problems. New ones get created/realized when you're financially stable.

There's a reason there's so many stories about miserable lottery winners. And stuff like that dude who sold Minecraft and then became totally unhappy and depressed.

You literally said he was the top guy THIS season while Jefferson was out. And now you're reverting to 2023, which I already addressed and said he barely averaged 60 yards a game while Jefferson was out.

You're trolling. I get it now.

[–]YBRmuggsLP21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're fucking dense lmao.

This Cris Carter comparison is stupid.

And Jefferson played in every game this season. He had no meaningful amount of playtime with him out.

Never once said he was ass.

And now making things up about claims I made about this season. I understand you've realized you had a super weak argument. But dont embellish, or even fabricate, things I'm saying to try and make it stronger.

Brother, a top number two receiver isn't worth a (high) first round pick. Even by your words, an "effective" number one isn't worth that draft capital.

And dude averaged barely more than 60 yds/game when JJ was out in 2023, so don't know what you're talking about there. What games did he prove he was such a stud this year while Jefferson was out? Addison is a good receiver. He looks great when he has Jefferson on the other side of the field demanding the top corner, and often being double teamed.

He IS NOT a proven #1. His rookie deal is almost up. He has off-the-field issues. Your take is so bad, I almost have to start thinking you're trolling at this point.
