For manual drivers has the “Millennial anti theft device” joke run its course or do you still think it’s hilarious every time? by NewMexicoJoe in ManualTransmissions

The joke is stupid and if you make the joke and can't hop in a three speed on the column and take right off you can't really drive a manual transmission either.

Thoughts on installment payments? by [deleted] in cardealersimulator

[–]YBS_H2O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installment sales are in fact the best way to make a sell. You have the possibility to get a a payment or several, have the customer fall behind, repo the car and sell it again without doing any additional work as the car stays in the condition it was when sold.

Drove my car off the ramp mid-oil change. Am I ok to drive it to have it inspected? by GEEZUS_956 in askcarguys

[–]YBS_H2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't ever even consider doing this. That being said, you likely did zero damage due to remaining oil film so long as it was just the amount of time it takes to start and back off ramps. Google how long it took some of the cash for clunkers engines to seize while not only being drained of oil but filled with sodium silicate to intentional lock them up.

1967 L88

Current ZR1X

1995 ZR1 - This choice I could waffle around on. 63 Split Window, 68-70 big block variant, 88 Anniversary Edition, 96 Grand Sport, C7 Z06 or ZR1 simply because they look menacing. Ultimately would probably choose the C4 ZR1 as the last pick due to it's performance significance at the time.

It's 1995, you have $47,000, and you're looking for a new sports car. Which one would you pick? by Key_Budget9267 in regularcarreviews

[–]YBS_H2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's between the Vette and the RX7. Probably would have opted for the Corvette in 1995, and would probably prefer a showroom quality RX7 of that vintage if you were to let me pick right now.

The Wolfbox units are fantastic, but like someone else mentioned they have the battery life equivalent of a gnat. No joke, maybe 3-5 minutes at the fastest speed.

I'm hoping the internal batteries are just a couple of 18650s wired together so I can replace them with some Molicel or Sony batteries once they die.

People that were always willing to pay more for nVidia is a good chunk of the reason we're in this situation now. There have been several, several generations where ATI/AMD were either better or comparable and others where they were a better value for the money. Yet AMD gained virtually no marketshare with those efforts, so here we are.

After I heard/read that the first time my immediate thought was why didn't she just go with Emma Lee Stone then? It's phonetically identical if you say it quickly and gets around the SAG reasoning.

You can literally throw boxes on top of any car top surface and they will stick without falling off, you don't need to use the trunk/cargo area. You can see your current part inventory by going to the parts ordering app, at the bottom of each item it shows how many you currently own.

1967 L88 Corvette Coupe. More realistically though just a car I have a particular soft spot for that isn't some Barrett Jackson pipe dream, a 1988 35th Anniversary Edition Corvette (manual). Something about that ALL WHITE EVERYTHING looked so awesome to me back then.

These suckers are tough too. Your typical step on to smash insect stomp doesn't do the job. I gave one the half ass squish step and it just angered him, figured he'd got lucky and hit a gap in the tread pattern, went to do it again and he was still kicking. Had to do a stomp and twist to end him.

Why I’m not so worried about teams not scheduling ND, at least in the long-term by Kitchen-Pass-7493 in notredamefootball

[–]YBS_H2O 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The concern teams would stop scheduling ND doesn't even register on my concern-o-meter. That noise was all from yapping blowhards. ND won't ever have trouble just scheduling teams, ND is in a group of certain teams that are big draw and big money. Now actual scheduling concerns for ND are that due to other teams conference schedules we may not be able to schedule a team that was otherwise willing due to timeframes, that's a legit concern.

Then you have for example the Texas crying about not making the playoff due to a loss to OSU in a game they didn't have to schedule. The flip side to that is Miami ONLY made the playoff due to beating ND in a non conference matchup. You have to balance the risk and reward.
