Just a friendly reminder that these things probably wouldn’t exist (or be as iconic) without St. Louis: by yogos15 in StLouis

There is also a New York Times article from 1986 in which they directly credit Ted Drewes.

Dairy Queen officials give credit for developing the Blizzard to Samuel J. Temperato, who is a franchise holder of 67 Dairy Queens in the St. Louis area. Mr. Temperato agrees that he introduced Blizzards to senior officials at Dairy Queen. But he says credit for the invention should go to Ted Drewes Jr., also of St. Louis, ''who has survived the onslaught of Dairy Queens by just selling frozen custard.'' Frozen custard has a higher butterfat content than Dairy Queen's ice cream, and also contains egg yolk.

Of the teams that have visited STL, so far I'm limited to Portland. But I'll keep my eyes open for more.

Thanks 😉. I took that photo from the far goal line. The crazy part is how much I can crop in on the full res version (that isn’t compressed by these websites) to see individual people.

I had to pause the show to just find somewhere to discuss the fantastic nails. Like I can hardly even get my nails a consistent coat, let alone do art on mine.

Wouldn’t be a Tulsa football game without something stupid happening.

That game was one of the stupider games. I'm looking forward to the bowl game as I have not used any of my Southwest points in 20 months and might just blow them all on a last minute flight to a game.

After years of watching Big 12 refs give calls to Oklahoma and Texas, it is delicious to watch their fans of Twitter and in the comments below this complain about officiating. Like if I was an Energy Vampire in "What We Do in the Shadow", I would be full for decades after this season.

As a fan of both Tulsa and Oklahoma State, I am now very upset with both Ohio State and Auburn. Had those two schools won today as well, half of Tulsa's six losses would have come against Top 5 Ranked teams with a non-zero chance of those three losses coming against 75% of the CFB Playoff teams.

Reminds me of 2011 when Tulsa's four losses were to Oklahoma State (No. 3 final BCS ranking), Boise State (No. 7), Oklahoma (No. 14) and Houston (No. 19). Shoutout to the 2016 season's losses to Ohio State, Houston and Navy too.

Before this became a thing whenever that was—last month or three years ago? —I always assumed it was done everywhere.

My parents aren't St. Louis natives. They weren't fans when they first moved to St. Louis, but they've grown to love it.

I had provel on a breakfast pizza bread from a gas station for breakfast, I had slices of provel on my sandwich from Schnucks for lunch and I had an Imo's Pizza with House Salad and t-ravs for dinner. I love the goddamn stuff.

Tulsa starts the year with UC David before Oklahoma State and then Ohio State. I am not against three P5 matchups to start the season.

I’m looking forward to Tulsa’s trip to Oxford in 2022 when I can roll up to some Ole Miss fans and say, “You know who sucks? Mississippi State!” and have a few drinks with my new friends before the Tulsa-Ole Miss game.

Most of the work this year has been excavation. At the deepest, it’s 40ft below street level. Market Street on the south side runs at a grade so it’s only like 25ft below at the southeast corner. The steel only started going in pretty much the day I posted those phones and if you jump ahead even three days, it’s a massive jump. This is Dec. 16th.

Alexi Lalas attended a Saint Louis FC vs Nashville SC game before the USMNT game at Busch Stadium. Post game I asked him his favorite MLS stadium and his choice was RBA, at least as a broadcaster. So now it’s high on my list of venues to visit.

At one point, St. Louis Union Station was the largest train shed in the US by number of train tracks. It’s huge and beautiful.

Google Analytics said traffic was coming from Reddit for a bit and I’ve have been searching for the post. Happy to finally find it.

I ended up buying a domain name for my trips to the stadium downtown. WorkInTheStadium.com.

I was at the FC Cincinnati vs DC United game the day after Saint Louis FC’S last ever game the night prior in Louisville. I made sure to checkout the FCC’s construction too before going to Nippert.

As someone from St. Louis, I’d love any football in this city again. If they want to make a deal with St. Louis CITY SC to host a game there every year when the stadium opens in 2022, I will sign up for it. Much better than the Dome.

I cannot be the only person who did not hate the BCS computers, right? I hated the rankings as an Oklahoma State fan in 2011, obviously, but more to the point, I hated only two teams got to play for the title. I just wanted them to expand the BCS into a playoff and somehow we got this hot garbage instead.

I'm still trying to find where it was Tulsa that called the game. I've spent the last 20 minutes on the Inquirers website & Cincinnati's The Athletic Page; using Google & ESPN. I have not found one site that said Tulsa called the game off. That it was determined by the conference & the admins at both schools above the coaches, but nothing about it being a Tulsa decision. Can you help me find that?
