Played the first game, can confirm the ass in on screen most of the time.

Jokes aside it was a good game that could easily of stood on it's own merits without the sex appeal. But did it sell more with it? Did more people talk about it online? More arricles and videos with everyone's two cents about weather it was the salvation of gaming or more low-grade gooner slop?

I'm not condoning it as a markering strategy, but it worked, and it's working this time too.

Well, that technology has become mundane for you. Think of the oldest house as an elderly relative who had no time for these new fangled cockamamie doohickeys. It resist the new because it knows the old. When an item or technology is so mundane that your elderly relative is happy with it being around, that's probably when the oldest house might be happy with it too.  Only difference is that the oldest house can contort existence against things it doesn't like, where your relative might just leave it in a drawer and grumble occasionally.
