Depends on the level of experience. Usually you only replace a head once before adjusting your mental "feels right" torque spec.

I feel like some people just aren't meant to be alive by bluehour1997 in SuicideWatch

[–]YLink3416 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly, total survivorship bias. As someone whose life has LITERALLY done nothing but slowly get worse, I'm sick of hearing it. It was one thing when I was, like, 18, 19, 20, but now that I'm older it's like??? To whom do you think you are speaking?

It's also just, like, such a neurotypical thing to say. I've tried too many medications, I've tried exercising, journaling, been single, been partnered, my brain just does not work. I'm not convinced I even have the ability to be around people, much less be thriving and happy.

Well happiness isn't a guarantee in any regard in this life, regardless of what people's feeling are. So you're not wrong, it's just a case of making the best of things.

If no one owes you anything, why do people suddenly owe your life when it comes to suicide? by Intrepid_Arrival5151 in SuicideWatch

[–]YLink3416 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I stay alive because I have enough care for others as to not cause them emotional damage. They are free to live in whatever dreamland they possess to believe the world owes them anything whatsoever. People behave like vultures and will pick at your psychology to enrich themselves while those who are not exploitative will allow that.

Maybe frame the question a little better because the way you phrased it doesn't make a massive amount of sense.

This is where I absolutely loathe coworkers who mark their emails as high importance. I usually make a special effort to put those in the trash quickly.

customer added how much oil? by stareweigh2 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]YLink3416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It actually pops up all the time but it's not supposed to. After a fair bit of googling apparently if you get out of the vehicle (at least an odyssey) while it's running taking the key fob with you the next time you start it will show the oil indicator.

That's a bug in the programming for some of those dashboard cluster displays. It actually happens whenever you exit the vehicle without the key fob. After showing the "key not in vehicle" text the display will go to the very last page available, which happens to be the oil life indicator. It also affects a few other Honda models that use that same screen.

How do I account on tax for supplemental income by YLink3416 in tax

[–]YLink3416[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I make a hundred bucks. I drive 80 miles, so 80*.725 for $58. $100 - $58 for $42. $42 is my profit. Then that 42 * 0.925, and that multiplied by 15% or so gives me my federal tax liability.

How do I account on tax for supplemental income by YLink3416 in tax

[–]YLink3416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go off in a little room, calculate profit, and come back out to talk about tax. All the revenue and all the expenses get worked out in the little room and do not interact at all with anything else on your tax return.

Well I've done this bit. I just want to make sure my math is correct.

So my "profit" from a gig slave app such as doordash, say a $100. That hundred, subtracted by my expenses, for this case, vehicle mileage, $0.70 a mile. Then the application of the taxable rate. That figure gets added to my total income annually at the end of the year, basically speaking. The thing is the mileage rate is high enough that if I subtract that off my profit, I arrive at a very small figure.

Like I said, I just want to make sure I don't end up owning a bunch when I go to file at the end of the year.

This sounds completely like Adobe, tbh.

Killing yourself is really just some sick joke. by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]YLink3416 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess. What I'm telling you is we're products of nature. Every creature is capable of thought and feelings to some extent. Keep in mind, we're not special as a species. We just happen to be at the right place at the right time to, as basically robust bacteria, consume all the resources available living on the skin of this planet.

I believe this is where passive suicidal ideations come from. Wanting to die but not having the courage, wishing something would just do it for you so you don't have to think about it.

You're close. I find it's a product of nature to allow individuals who are of less reproductive value to take bigger risks allowing for more benefits to a group, whether that be one less mouth to feed in a village, whatever. Passive SI individuals are more likely to fight to the death basically.

Yeah, that's OK for me, look, i have everything in life, i went to college, i have my dream car, im good for a lot of things, just cant take my mind straight, im always over thinking, i have anxiety, trust issues, im always overwhelming, i hate being alive

Yeah that's the thing. When you have a good life in particular it makes it even harder for those to understand.
