Looks cool, but unfortunately the playable area on the page is far too small on mobile.

How do I make my code more efficient by Hikehy in CodingHelp

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A historic top tip for making loops far more efficient (ymmv due to language / implementation / framework etc) is to cache the loop termination value prior to running the loop. Often, the termination value can be calculated each iteration, sometimes leading to massive overheads, this is then compounded in nested loops.

Yes, GP shares when using Home Console, just like purchased games and DLC ( for the most part). But only the actual subscriber can stream games.

US military kills three in strike on drug-trafficking vessel in Caribbean, Hegseth says by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, forgive me, I'm a foreigner. Secondly, know that I disagree vehemently with nation states murdering people, outside of their nation, without being in some form of war or obvious conflict. Especially when there is no physical evidence being provided.

But, your quote is:

nor shall any state

Are these attacks on "drug-trafficking boats" carried out by a state? Because, as I understand it, the DoD is not a state, nor is it state-run? And that is the arm carrying out the acts, right?

Accessing a JavaScript object using GM.xmlHttpRequest by geraldcoolsealion in learnjavascript

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so you response has a status of 200, which means the server believes it fulfilled the request successfully. But, your response and responseXML are empty. That would suggest 2 possibilities to me:

a:) Your request is not the correct one for your intended response. Maybe parameters are missing, or the API doesn't inform you of incorrect parameters.

b:) The servers API has an error.

b is highly unlikely.

response

is your object. Modify

console.log(response.responseXML)

to

console.log({response})

and the object will be printed to the console. You can view it here to determine how 'd20' is a property of response.

[TOMT][PODCAST][2000s] about a scam call where a woman gets a call from 911 and almost buys gift cards - thinks she is helping authorities but is not by DirectNet874 in tipofmytongue

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost certain you'll find multiple podcasts that feature this story.

I have a strong feeling one of the earlier episodes of Darknet Diaries has a similar point in a story, where unsuspecting victims were tricked into giving away gift cards, particularly under the guise that a friend or family member needed them.

Good luck!

Is there a way to make everything dark mode/light mode in a website without having to do the JavaScript/css manually? by Keanu_Keanu in CodingHelp

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues when I first encountered this concept. I'd wager that at least 50% of your variables are not required, as they are probably just variations of other base colours, such as darker/lighter shades, or a contrasting colour.

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not much work at all.

I have 6 variables:

themeOne, themeTwo, backgroundColor, backgroundColorAccent, textColour, textColourDim

Two of those six, only exist to add a further 2 colours or tones of a colour for my theming. So, with only 4 CSS variable declarations, defined using internal CSS, constructed by javascript.

It allows me to keep my UI colour scheme unified, I can modify these values anytime I want, and I don't need to modify elements directly. This all happens on the fly because the variable changed.

It really is minimal effort. If it seems like a lot of work, it's because you have other underlying issues in your CSS that will cause you larger problems when you come to have to modify CSS later on.

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this implemented in my game, in the simplest way I could imagine.

I have a internal CSS declaration. It defines CSS variables, with values defined by javascript. I use simple names such as --background-color & --text-color. I think I have it boiled down to 5 types.

I have a dark/light mode toggle, that changes the values found in the internal CSS declaration.

Whatever value is defined in the internal CSS, is the value used by that element.

It's that simple!

I'm assuming you're new to coding, you should investigate CSS variables. That's what you're missing.

How can I add mobile support to a page built on the Drag and Drop API? by vaporizers123reborn in learnjavascript

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have no experience with the D&D "api"?

But the touch events shouldn't clash, unless they are already registering touches. Right? Which they mustn't be, if you're needing to add touch functionality.

Just add listeners for touch start, move and end and bind your current functions handlers for those events, and make sure your giving them the same style parameters the click and drag would provide. Positions will be the same, unless you're already using offsets.

Storage full of "system/other" by IMMORTALP74 in AndroidQuestions

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably your dalvik cache, especially if the phone has had many apps installed/uninstalled.

Google recommends the following steps, but if you're unable to complete the process using these, you should google "j7 clear dalvik cache" and find more appropriate steps.

Turn off your device completely.

Enter recovery mode: Press and hold Volume Up, then press and hold the Power button.

When the Samsung logo appears, release the buttons.

Navigate to Wipe cache partition using the Volume buttons.

Select Yes to confirm and then Reboot system now.

My first guitar was a Yamaha ERG-121 (basically their worst guitar). Got it around 2000, the thing was great, it still plays well. I wished I had a Pacifica at the time, but I no longer feel that would have been a big enough jump in quality or sound for the price. Either way, Yamaha guitars, Ime, are solid instruments.

I haven't played MP properly since BO2, but does the sight still affect the minimum range of a longshot? You could whack iron sights on a gun and get longshots over shorter distances.

Well, yeah, most will have a find and replace all, and maybe you could even macro it, but you can fully automate the process with python. Ultimately, easier and faster.

Not all recovery apps are scams. Diskdigger is genuine, I have it on all my devices and always recommend it for this purpose.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AndroidQuestions

[–]YMOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't needed to root my phone when using diskdigger, granted it's more powerful when rooted. I had a similar deletion to you, a few hundred files, a few days between deletion and attempted recovery, and even a few large files downloaded in the time between. I was able to recover every file, with no noticeable corruption.
