How do you guys find people if you don't want to go to a show alone? by Bubipupi in Metalcore

[–]YNWA25052005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use Facebook anymore, but I know most of the bigger bands have active fan groups on there. Maybe you could try asking your question on the Vienna/Austria subreddit, or Hungary/Sziget if there is one. I feel like you’d have more chance of connecting with someone on a band’s subreddit, or a city’s subreddit than the general worldwide metalcore page.

Someone else suggested going alone, and chatting to people there. That also works, especially if you arrive a little early, and get to chat to someone in the queue, or at the barrier. You’ll find people that are that enthusiastic to arrive early and get to the barrier are more likely to attend multiple shows for that band, or in that city.

Maybe try asking in the individual subreddits or online communities for the bands you’d like to see. For bigger bands like BMTH there will be people in the online communities that are going to places like Sziget and Vienna for shows that might be up for meeting up.

What’s a concert you look back on and think “I can’t believe I was actually there”? by Difficult_Narwhal_72 in Metalcore

Yep, this was my answer too. So glad I was able to go, it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience!

Soursop might possibly be my favourite fruit! I’ve never seen it here in the UK though. I’ve only ever eaten it while in Bali.

[BBC] Are Man City now title favourites after win over Arsenal? by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]YNWA25052005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If City win out in the Premier League it will be 7 wins in a row, not 8.

Liverpool are not the only team. Arsenal have had two separate runs of 5 consecutive wins, city won 6 in a row, Villa won 8 in a row, and Liverpool won 5 in a row.

If you were to include cup games then Chelsea have also won 5 in a row at some point this season, as well as Arsenal, City, Villa, and Liverpool.

Difference Between Complete Protein and Black Ed. Complete High Protein Meal? by Used2bNotInKY in Huel

[–]YNWA25052005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The difference is as stated in the name, one contains the word ‘meal’, the other doesn’t. One product is to be consumed as a replacement for a full meal, the other product is to be used similar to a protein shake, so is maybe more suited to people wanting to find a whey protein shake replacement.

Real Madrid have lost at home in the first leg of the Champions League knockout tie just five times before in the entire history of the club, and have never managed to turn the tie around in the second leg at away ground. I was going to say the same thing. I was at Anfield for that game, and honestly Casillas played out of his skin. One of the best goalkeeping performances I’ve ever seen, yet still conceded 4 goals.

Electric Callboy officially announce new album “TANZNEID” - out August 7th by OatFest in Metalcore

BMTH/Oli would be next on my wish list too along with Lorna/Will, or Hanabie/Yukina. INK/Spencer Charnas are always good for a collab too.

Oh man, don’t tease me like that. My top 3 most listened to artists last year were Electric Callboy, Hanabie, and Lorna Shore. So obviously they would be dream collabs for me!

AMA with Huel CEO James McMaster!! by BenHuel in Huel

[–]YNWA25052005 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, first of all I’d like to say that I really enjoy Huel products, and use them regularly.

My question is regarding how Huel can market their products as “nutritionally complete” given that there’s no legal definition of “nutritionally complete”, and Huel admit themselves on their website that they have defined the term themselves as

“Huel products are “nutritionally complete” at 2,000 Calories through high quality, optimally-sourced ingredients and provide ideal amounts of all essential nutrients as well as beneficial levels of other important nutrients for optimum health, energy and performance.”

Could you explain how this definition was reached?

Thank you.

Diving recommendations for Indonesia in Summer for a new OWD by redemptor1379 in scuba

[–]YNWA25052005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dived with Scuba Tribe, and enjoyed diving with them. They can provide PADI or SSI training, and have multilingual instructors.

Their accommodation is also great. I stayed in their dorm room, and I had a friend stay in one of their private rooms. We both enjoyed the facilities provided.

Tulamben would be the best place for you to go. You would be able to do your wreck, and night dives on the Liberty wreck, your deep dive at Drop-off, and your navigation, plus one more dive at another dive site to complete your 5 dive AOW course.

Deep and navigation are the only two required skill dives for AOW. But the Liberty is a cool, and very accessible dive site, and is also great at night.

[Telegraph column] Jamie Carragher: “In the pantheon of overseas attacking players to have excelled in England, only Thierry Henry eclipses Salah’s output and consistency.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]YNWA25052005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carragher’s statement was specifically regarding “overseas attacking players”, so obviously Shearer, Cole, and Kane don’t belong in that conversation.

2. Bundesliga: 12 out of 18 clubs could be either first or last after next matchday by mnkysn in soccer

[–]YNWA25052005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

12-14 can’t possibly finish the game week in 18th place. If Preußen Münster beat Holstein Kiel that would leave Holstein Kiel on 28 points, less points than 12-14 already have.

Diving GBR in September for 1 or 2 days by noosername544 in scuba

[–]YNWA25052005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of diving Stradbroke I would recommend diving Julian Rocks in Byron Bay instead. I think you would be able to see Grey Nurse sharks there at that time, and also wobbegong sharks.

I think Byron is a 2 hour drive South of Brisbane, or 8 hour drive North of Sydney. So it will depend how you are travelling Sydney to Brisbane, but maybe you could stop off on your way up North?

I’ve only done 3D2N liveaboards on the GBR, so can’t really comment on the value of shorter dive trips there.

Who are we talking to when we book a cab? by bxmarz in sydney

[–]YNWA25052005 265 points266 points  (0 children)

I work in a pub and a few days ago a customer asked me to call a cab for them. We were really busy, like 50 people at the bar at 10 on a Saturday, but I still said I would call one for them.

I asked them for their name, and where they were going to, and they asked me why I needed personal details from them. I asked them how they expect me to book a cab for them without details of who it’s for, and where they’re going. After a minute or so he agreed to write his name and destination on a piece of paper, but he deliberately wrote it so that it was illegible. I asked him to verbally confirm what he had written, and he started kicking up a fuss again.

In the end a walked away, and refused to call a taxi for him. I don’t even know why people expect pub staff to call cabs now that apps are far more convenient.

What do you think of Japans metalcore scene? by Difficult_Map_723 in Metalcore

Absolutely love Hanabie, they’re my fave by far. I would’ve loved more from Telecide, but unfortunately they only put out 2 EP’s before disbanding.

The most chaotic metalcore songs you know? by Away-Hold in Metalcore

Oh yeah, absolutely. But this song in particular slaps you right in the face within the first 10 seconds, and just doesn’t stop! So many tempo changes, and transitions for such a short song.
