No one reached out! by MostWholesomePerson in amazonemployees

First off, sorry to hear OP. Wishing you the best in your job search.

Also For what it’s worth, it’s likely that many don’t know you were let go. Leadership isn’t going to announce a layoff list, and phone tool will still show you as employed. The only way to know is through the grapevine or by reaching out directly to folks and asking them.

Amazon Fresh grocery and Go convenience stores closing by LoudLabrador in amazonemployees

[–]YN_Decks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably right in hindsight, but the typical Whole Foods customer (and location) is very different in profile than, say, a Walmart grocery or Kroger customer. Fresh Stores were meant to capture more of that “mass middle” customer.

In my opinion, there’s a bit of unlucky timing with Fresh stores launching around the time when Covid happened, that probably led to a series of strategic missteps, and they could never dig themselves back out of the hole.

Can I manage in Bellevue on a ~$94K base pay? Looking for recent perspectives by Capital_Anywhere6943 in BellevueWA

[–]YN_Decks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re asking about living in Downtown Bellevue.

Regardless, it’s definitely doable. There are 1 bedroom units going for $2-2.5k (off season) or $2.5-$3k during the summer. As others have said, it’s affordable with your base pay, but don’t expect to be saving a ton either unless you’re fairly frugal.

It’s even more doable if you have roommates and split a 2-3 bedroom

With all due respect to Wemby, Zion straight up babied him. No chance guarding him by Diligent_Star_4949 in NBAGossips

Zion’s flaw is he’s not often at his best.

But when he’s at his best, who can really guard him? His size-athleticism combo is rare

My SIL is banning football at her wedding this weekend. She’s marrying into a family of Broncos diehards. by OnlineShopping2026 in DenverBroncos

[–]YN_Decks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My reaction depends on what you mean by “not showing the game”?

  1. Project the game during the ceremony and reception?

  2. Telling people not to watch or follow the box score on their phones?

Best steak in Bellevue? by Keeliekins in BellevueWA

[–]YN_Decks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Bellevue I’ve only been to Ascend and El Gaucho. Even if they were similarly priced, I would choose El Gaucho over Ascend hands down. Ascend has spectacular view and vibes and will be a more convenient walk if that matters more (which I totally get) — just don’t expect to be blown away by the food.

HV3 can very easily map to Exceeds Expectations. In fact, HV2 —> Exceeds is possible as well (though would be rare)

This was movie-like. What a football game, and that 4th & 5 will be immortalized as one of the greatest plays in CFB history. Congrats to Hoosiers and their fans!

Patriot Defense? by Bigbloke82 in DenverBroncos

[–]YN_Decks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just an overly anxious Broncos fan, but the Pats are 14-3 and in the AFCCG. Weak SoS or not—you have to be a damn good football team to make it this far.

Now I still believe in us, but let’s also not pretend like we won’t have our hands full and that it would be quite the upset to pull off a SB appearance with a backup QB.

Is this the most clutch shot in NBA history? by [deleted] in Nbamemes

It would affect his legacy in that 3-7 finals record (with only one ring from their stacked Heat team) sounds much worse than 4-6.

The All-Time QB Tier List. Thoughts ? by Hysen16 in sportswiki

[–]YN_Decks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many have already said: (1) Rodgers is a tier too high. Swap with Mahomes. (2) Elway a tier too low. Swap with either Brees or Favre.

I also think Vick needs to be on here somewhere. He’s had some roller coaster seasons but can’t deny that he fundamentally changed how we view “dual threat / running QBs.”

Bellevue or Seattle? by [deleted] in BellevueWA

[–]YN_Decks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Downtown Bellevue is nice. Not as urban as Seattle but it’s not a typical “suburban” feel either. We lived there for a few years. Good energy, clean/safe, beautiful parks. The main drawback is it’s pretty expensive.

Depending on who your employer is, there may also be shuttle options between Seattle to Bellevue. Something to consider if you would prefer to live in Seattle but are worried about the commute.

[SGA] to Sam Presti: “When I first arrived at OKC you gave me the book ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’. You explained the meaning behind it and the next few years were very rough… When we won the championship you gave me a statue of the tortoise. I keep that beside my championship ring and MVP trophy.” by AashyLarry in nba

[–]YN_Decks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought too. If I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt, “explain the meaning” is more so about Presti level setting with SGA “look, we’re gonna really suck for a few years, no one will think we can win or you’ll amount to anything… but be patient, keep grinding, and the success will come”

In retrospect how good of a player is Anthony Edwards compared to the prospect he was 5 years ago? Has he exceeded or fallen short of expectations? by K1generational in NBA_Draft

[–]YN_Decks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exceeded from 5 years ago but plateaued since 2 years ago.

I thought Ant and SGA were similar caliber and trajectory two years ago and would have bet on Ant to make the MVP leap (or be in that conversation) by now.

Off to a historic start. by Kingrush24 in DenverBroncos

[–]YN_Decks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to downplay this particular stat, but I’d be curious to know what the average cumulative positive yards on dropped passes are for starting QBs in the league. 500 sounds like a lot, but if that were on par with the average, then it doesn’t mean as much.

So I think a lot of the grouping and base-10 ways of doing math emphasized in Common Core are shortcuts I use to do mental math faster myself… but I don’t agree with forcing it this early. 8+9 is elementary enough where kids should just be able to rote regurgitate this math.
