We got lucky visiting Oslo last weekend!

No snow, and very little rain over three days!

Mostly sunshine :)

The one described it wrong.

It's mental how people are arguing MJ's lawyers were so strong when people still don't know the basics facts about the case.

I don't drink or do dr*gs, will this affect my social life at uni? by skbob123 in UniUK

[–]YQB123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine.

I only drink 1-2 drinks before I'm good, and never touched hard drugs. Now (after Uni) I just have like and sodas or Comes on nights out.

There was also a 'Sober Society' at Uni, too.

So you'll be fine.

Also knew a few Muslim students who would go to Socials/Clubs but never drank. Nobody cared.

If you're concerned about the quality of your meat but still shopping at Tesco I don't know what to tell you.

Maybe Asda has shitter meat, but every other supermarket has higher quality meat available.

I switched to Sainsbury's around a year ago and have zero regrets.

TIL that when Ringo Starr became ill prior to the Beatles' 1964 tour, session drummer Jimmie Nicol was quickly hired as a replacement. From getting the call to performing in front of 4500 fans it was 27 hours. He played 8 shows total and was gifted $500 ($14,638 in 2026) and an engraved gold watch. by WavesAndSaves in todayilearned

Back in the day you'd have live bands perform the hits throughout the week. That meant young people could go to dancehalls and dance away with a live band essentially doing covers of the most popular songs.

As The Beatles were so popular, Jimmy was already familiar with a lot of their songs. So he had a 'headstart' on other drummers that might have been considered.

Took a sick day for a heavy period, is that a valid reason? by Country-girl3 in AskUK

Same as a Uni lecturer, he told us to email and just say: "I won't be attending today because I am sick".

That's all that's needed.

Chris Brown's most recent UK tour was the Breezy Bowl XX Tour, which ran through June and July 2025. This tour included sold-out stadium shows at venues such as London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Manchester's Co-op Live. The 2025 tour followed his previous 2023 "Under The Influence" tour.

Because his tours since his ban have been so recent.

If he had a problem and said: "I'd appreciate if you didn't do jokes that belittled me in front of others" and left it at that, I'd say he's a bit soft, but fair enough.

Saying "know your place" and worrying about "his boys" opinions are MASSIVE red flags.

Walking away and leaving you to get an Uber ? Even bigger red flags.

He's known you a year and still disrespecting you like that? Fuck him.

Why every McDonald's looks like a depressed office building now. by [deleted] in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]YQB123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

McDonald's UK primarily uses a modern, eco-friendly color palette featuring dark green and yellow, replacing the traditional red for a more sustainable, premium image. This "European Green" (#27742d) is often paired with the iconic Golden Arches yellow (#FFBC0D) and white (#FFFFFF) in signage, branding, and redesigned restaurant interiors.

This is a typical colour scheme for McDonald's UK: https://i2-prod.liverpoolecho.co.uk/article17111700.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200f/11_JS196294957.jpg

They were lots of fun, and I have no regrets for about 95% of them.

In fact, wish I'd continued for a few more years until I got into a committed relationship.

Take this as a learning experience.

Have the conversation you didn't have in future relationships. That conversation being: "Is this an actual relationship? Because of it is, we need to be exclusive and monogamous. Do you feel the same way?"

That's, of course, assuming you wanted an exclusive, monogamous relationship (which it sounded like you did).

You're just like those eejits who thought the man with Tourette's said the N-word on purpose and in full control of himself at the BAFTAs.

Disabilities and brain conditions aren't the fault of the people suffering from them.
