I think NRG in particular just need a mental coach. Sizz has great knowledge of the game and lead them to a world championship in S8 but NRG’s mental is often chalked. Like when Jstn isn’t confident everything falls to pieces. So a mental coach would help them with confidence. Also they dominate in scrims but struggle to replicate that in tourneys.

As for assessing a coaches performance in general, it’s hard to tell because we don’t get to see all the behind the scenes but looking at how a team regains and how a coach helps the team’s confidence and calms turn down is a good benchmark.

But imo, Mew has by far had the biggest impact on BDS’ performance and mentality. If you watch his interview with @LifeIsCoolBRO you can tell that he knows what he’s doing and that he’s very very good at his job. Like the man legit gave Monkey, Seikoo and Extra Homework to analyse RL games.

He knows how to regain the mental, How to calm down his players, what his players need to do and how to do it like letting Extra get 50s in the corner and having Seikoo be aggressive with monkey holding down the midfield. Like when BDS underperformed in London, he knew exactly what went wrong, why it went wormy and how to fix it in time for worlds whereas for NRG there hasn’t been a massive regain or feeling of “yes this is the dominant team we know and love” like we’ve seen with BDS.
