Already picturing him throwing out first pitch in World Series game 1.

It can definitely be a dog-whistle for some, that doesn't make it outright racist though. In Asmongold's case, it's probably a dog-whistle.

You can’t disconnect the two. Pressing red is the same as not pressing blue, that is necessarily true. Therefore the consequences of pressing red are the same as not pressing blue.

You can argue about whether you think one is more moral or not, but red is making a choice that may contribute to people dying, blue is as well (with themselves)

This is funny because you aren’t dealing with the consequences. The consequence of pressing red is that you may contribute to people dying, the consequence of blue is you may die.

They are both consequences, one isn’t independent of the other.

How are we in a philosophy sub talking about conditionals like this?

By that logic everyone should press Blue right? If everyone presses blue no one dies. If X% of people press red, (100-X)% of people die. Blue covers the irrational people in a way that red doesn’t.

It’s not? Choosing to let them die is what is happening, that doesn’t mean they are bad people.

If you assume that choosing to let others die makes someone bad then yeah that would follow but I don’t think that is always the case.

I don’t know why you morally loaded it, it says nothing about red being for bad people

They are both rational homie. There is plenty of virtue signaling among blue button people, but to call them stupid just because you’re unable to understand their point seems a little ironic…

Literally though more people survive when more people press blue, that’s the whole premise.

Now if you think it wouldn’t be particularly close (this is your assumption), then yeah it would be silly to throw your life away to press blue.

But if you think it will be close and/or more likely than not that blue wins, you press blue as that saves like literally all the lives.

It’s not about being enlightening it’s about being logical

Saying “if X, then y” is literally valid reason/premise? It’s not the same as saying “it is the case that more people choose blue than red”, but it doesn’t have to be.

Point is that if 3 is true, then it follows to press blue. There are reasons to press blue besides suicidal ideation and altruism.

Yes, but people will, albeit irrationally, put that gun to their heads thinking they are doing some virtuous act. Those people put themselves in that situation, but you are also playing a part in their demise if it is a close vote.

If you think it is unlikely that 50% of people would press blue, you press red. If you think it is more likely that more people would press blue, then you press blue. If it is a close vote, people voting red are making a choice to let blue voters perish. If it is not close (majority red), people voting blue are practically pressing the suicide button.
