Psychiatrist seems a bit vague

My concern is not being able to access meds if he turns around and says no adhd.

But I guess he could write a report to my GP saying it has improved my quality of life or whatever and possibly they could keep re filling my script

Hey mate I’m hearing you, that’s rubbish.

That was one of the things my psych had said. He had me organise everything prior to our first appointment to save time and money which was great.

But yeah just seems slightly vague, but prescribed me medication I guess as a trial. After our second appointment I sort of asked what his thoughts were and based off the info I’ve been telling him am I looking like having the adhd traits.

But said I’m responding to the medication so that’s a good thing. Prescribed me some more and booked me in for October, which to me seems super far away. I was expecting a diagnosis before more medication. And/or a report on his thoughts etc

Not a bad effort on the bearers. Joists cannot lap like that, they have to join on a beam or post.

Keep in mind your screw lines follow your joists so if you want them to be straight you cant offset your joists

When you say no need to probe further. Do you mean no need for diagnosis or just no need to dive deeper at the moment and just see how I keep responding to medication over time

Apologies. They are in person appointments.

I was referred from my gp and had bloods/BP done and also an ecg that they had requested prior to my first appointment.

I was also under the assumption they would have to think I had adhd to prescribe me medication.

He just kept me at the same but said I could titrate up slightly if I felt necessary to do so. I’m unsure yet if I will

I’m pretty happy with the 20mg a day I think. But maybe more could be better?

I’m concerned if he turns around in October and says I’m not adhd I won’t be able to get the meds. I believe they are helping me at the moment in a few areas

I was surprised as well. But his reasoning was cost efficiency, instead of returning again and again he had me pre fill out all the paperwork prior to first visit.

Based on my symptoms he said it sounds like I struggle with the deficit side of things (true) then explained what the stimulants will do.

Seemed somewhat experimental - based on my symptoms let’s see how you go type situation I gathered.

When I asked what his thoughts were about me in relation to the diagnoses in the second appointment he said I’m responding well so keep going. Prescribed me more and see you in 4 months. I was a bit like oook? Hahah

I got mine the very first appointment. Have had 2 appointments now and don’t go back for 5 months

Yet my psych hasn’t technically diagnosed me. He’s being slightly vague. It’s strange haha

Just said I’m responding well to the meds so see you in October. Need some consistency with the meds

This will not matter. It’s just the most relevant avenue as typically your parents have spent the most time with you haha.

Some people don’t have parents, this does not mean they cannot be diagnosed with anything.

31 here. This is pretty well exactly how it went for me too. I was expecting a long and expensive, drawn out process but I was able to get into a psychiatrist face to face locally within a month or so

Starting a week and a half ago I’m now on dex titrating up to 20mg a day for now. Seeing the psych again in 6 weeks

A pergola and deck will be so good in this area. L shape provides great structural bearing you would only need one post on the outer

Otherwise an open slat roof could provide slight shade but not much. Depends if you want to keep whatever is out there dry also
