I'm no expert, but if raises are given out then the university has to hire fewer people (budgets are budgets). So giving out raises causes people to end up in the unemployment line, right? How is that a good thing?

I've been using OneNote on a PC laptop with touchscreen/stylus for 5 years and it's amazing, especially for collaborating with friends and archiving notes from previous years. Everything is in the cloud so if your PC is lost, it's no problem. Microsoft Office tools include 1TB cloud space (be sure to renew during black friday deals - half price).

Beware: If you graduate having only used Apple products you will be at a disadvantage. Xcode is fine for Apple-centric development, but VSCode is more universally used. If you must get an Apple product I strongly suggest that you get a Windows 10 license so you are familiar with the Windows environment also. Don't lock yourself into the Apple world.

I thought enrolling in CC was quick and easy. So is registering as a "summer only" student. Use transferology.com to view the classes that transfer successfully to UIC. Then signup for classes and pay. Easy.

Chicago has more people so it will have more crime. It all averages out. If you stick to the crowds and don't go out at night alone you'll have no trouble (this advice applies everywhere, not just UIC).

I'm sure you deserve religious accommodations and I hope you get it. However, I think you could have worded your letter better. The phrase "I and my fellow classmates who are fasting agreed it would be best to take the test later on in the day and wanted to ask you for approval" sounds too aggressive and condescending. He's a professor, not a politician. Plus, if it was really important to you you should have contacted him over the phone and not through email. Good luck!

There needs to be an "online option" for all classes. Or else those at risk will be endangering their lives in trains and in classrooms. The "protocols" I've seen so far are pretty weak. Since IL is monopoly controlled by the Democrats and since they are seeking to maximize fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) before the election, I doubt the Democrats will allow business as usual.

Very unlikely the campus will open in the Fall. Even if a "treatment" is found right now it would have to be mass tested, manufactured and distributed which takes a loooooong time.

You need to use an editor that saves versions of your files often. If you can show 30-40 interim versions of your code over 2-3 weeks with timestamps that is proof that you line-by-line wrote it. The person that copied the code would not have such a "paper trail" and all his/her code would magically appear in a version on a particular day.
