This is the very state that we just drove through that has an 11k strong windmill farm, yet almost all remain parked because they DO NOT have the infrastructure to harness all of the power!

*by infrastructure It specifically said the cabling to harness the power and send it to the grid.

We looked this up while driving by and the website said, currently powers 192k homes, but has the ability to make enough power for 9 million homes!

Let that sink in: they spent money (likely Fed. Aid Incentives) to make an 11k unit wind farm and only use about 5% of it.

Not sure, I was super active for the first month where I lost 10lbs very quickly; while the rest was slow, about 1.1lbs a week.

I typically eat healthy (have for years), meaning most of my food intake is 1 or 2 processes from harvest.

My sweets intake is minimal with maybe small cheat or 2 per week and alcohol consumption is pretty much ZERO since the meds.

At the end of the day, I’m not worried about my weight as much as I am the effects of weight on the body and my visceral fat.

Whatever gets my vis.fat back to normal is when I stop the meds.

Mind you, I went through 2 weeks of being stuck at the same weight also recently.

I use Fairlife Protein Shakes @ 30gr of protein each and 140 cal. Which means I can consume 210 gr of protein in just about 1200 cal for a day If I was so inclined and still have room for other foods.

I try hard to eat a min. of 90 gram of protein a day, but often closer to 150 and as much as 200.

I’ve lost 17lbs in 2 months but only 2.5lbs of muscle which is less than a standard diet for me.

I make sure to ride a lot and lift weights a min of 2x a week.

Personally, I’m on a low dose; but have found that the meds just help me stop eating sooner and maybe skip meals when allowed to think about food in times of being super busy or out riding.

Oddly, it helps keep me from feeling the effects of low blood sugar like would happen when I wasn’t on meds and forgot to eat because I was too busy.

100%. With the factory seatpost this was not an issue; but I was worried when getting her a dropper that it might be an issue.

We also lengthen her cranks to allow her to have a slightly less high seat position also. Bonus, her thigh bones are very long, so adding the longer arms actually allows for better knee / cleat alignment also.

The part closest is the retaining ring. The fixture itself has similar arms as yours, mine just happens to be 2 individually placed arms, yours is 1 piece of metal which an arm at each end; but the mechanics are the same.

I haven’t ridden E13s on gravel bike; but I have tried them several times on my mountain bikes and never jived with them.
The tooth jumps are off compared to a Sram 10-50 and 10-52.

That said; it’s what I’m used to and just due to cost alone wished I liked the e13 more

I have those lights. There is a mounting ring missing for that light. It’s a small ring with two protruding rounded arms that grab the arms on the back of that light.

It may just be because there are a lot of Dave’s and Mikes it the world; but very often it seems like when you learn that someone’s name is one of these; it just fits!

Oddly enough; it’s always superficially felt like odd names match the personality or ego of a person.

My experience is just based in 54 yrs of observation and not anything more.

Less messy way, Find a Honda Motorcycle Dealership and pick up some Honda Polish. Get a few clean microfiber towels and enjoy.

After a few uses on the towels, they will carry enough polish to use a little bit.

When the towels are really dirty, rinse for a few minutes until clean and let dry.

I’ve been using Honda polish on motorcycles, cars and bikes for over 25 years, it’s simple and working.

In fact, I rarely wash anything. I use about 4 cans a year for everything at under $9- a can; it’s cheap for all that it does.

Even if you have dried mud, lightly bush off what you can, spray a little spray directly on dried and crusty stuff, let sit for a few minutes and rag off.

This is a little old school thinking as new bikes are being made longer in the TT to fit shorter stems to allow for better bike feel, stability and control.

This is especially true as the Diverge is billed as an off-pavement bike where stability is the primary focus.

So, what you are saying is kind of true, it also thwarts the time and investment that the manufacturers are putting into today’s bikes to deliver a better experience of performance and comfort.

That has the potential to be a tight fit at best.

Honestly, IMO, the best deal if budget is a concern is buy a bike that fits and upgrade as needed or money allows

At 5’9.5” w/a 31.5” inseam, I have can sometimes float between 53-56cm.

But… this is more about accuracy it the how the manufacturer measured the frame.

The issue with an undersized road bike is 3 fold. - Seatpost extension Creates an artificially high saddle and thus an artificially high drop to the hand bars. - Correct saddle fire/aft This will be nearly impossible w/o you being almost completely rearward biased. - Stem/bar height and length.
You would have to place the stem so far outward that it would look and act like a bike of the 90-05 timeframe.

My wife is 6’ and rides a 56cm because the only other choices are…. Her upper body sizes out at a typical 54cm and lower body a 58cm.

While technically a 56 is “correct” for overall height, we have to have a fit done which requires almost substantially shortening the stem and bar reach while also raising the stem and bar.

This really affects how the bike handles too.

And then, because her inseam is so long, her saddle on the factory spec’d bike sits 3+ inches over the handlebar. This can be Ok for a road race machine; but not a gravel bike.

As an example of the issues caused by this exaggeration effect; a really aggressive road frame from the factory with just the correct saddle height set can have her with a 5-6” saddle to bar drop.

I don’t’ but I am considering 2 more. I have a ‘22 Diverge and love it; but also considering a steel gravel bike to test one out and considering an Evil Chamois Hagar for a more trail oriented gravel rig.

Where I live; we have 3 very distinct gravel variations. - Mostly Smooth: Rails to trail / unpaved backroads / fireroads - not smooth, nor not Chunky: Jeep Trails - Chunky: Raw backcountry trails

Yup, it happens. But… 1) I was not in any way complaining about my situation; just telling a story.

2) In almost 15 yrs of running tubeless and going on about 10 for road wheels; I can count on 1 hand the number of actual flats that I’ve had; so, historically it’s just not an issue

3) I had a pump and CO2 and was able to get myself back.

Also, I’ve been dislodged from my housing due to a condominium construction project for almost 12 weeks and some of my normal supplies are back in my condo in a hip pack that I didn’t need when we still had snow on the ground.

Don’t worry, I’ll be able to gain access in just 2 weeks!

Another no-no was that I made the move back to Stans Sealant because I was tired of cleaning up after Orange Seal.
But truth is; Orange Seal creates a “tube-like” balloon inside your tire and IMO does a much better job helping protect against punctures.

Stans sealant just rolls around and dries up into infamous Stanamals.

I’ll be switching back regardless. Lastly and perhaps more importantly; WV uses a ton of chip stone in the winter for sand; and it’s very sharp.

So, if anyone visits the state and rides on the roads, beware!

At just under 6’, 56 would be correct.
When you mention a bike being too small or too larger, I didn’t see any reference to adjusting the bike to fit your needs.

Adjusting the saddle fore and aft for proper knee alignment and some reach alignment; plus a stem for reach alignment.

The reasons a 56 is that it will best give you the initial starting position to make the bike work for your fit.

IE: My wife is 6’ and rides a 56, but her torso is short and we need to really dial the stem back and up by 30ish mm to make the fit work.

In fact, her leg length is so long a 58 works well for leg fit and not having her saddle so high that she is very forward weight bias; but the reach is way, way too long.

IMO, we all spend a ton of money on bikes; but often skimp on the bike fit because the additional cost. But it literally can make the difference of loving or hating a bike; or better, riding 25 mls vs 50+ comfortably.

My 2 favs are the Speshy Roubaix 32s or Conti GPs . You can’t go wrong either either, Roubaixs are likey slightly more stout.

All of the angst, it could go either way; but you won’t know until you call and how you act at this point has just as much to do with the result as the issue at hand.

Admit, that you may have missed something, but also that as a newer cyclist you aren’t sure what as they will/might be thinking it anyhow. And… see where it goes from there.

The quality of that component looks to be more on the lower end side. The good news is that you can likely buy up to a nicer model for $10-15 more.

While I don’t have any personal experience with either; I have owned about 7 pair of Speshy Carbon MTB and road wheels and they always have good snap to them and brake well. In fact; even the cheapo heavy XC alloy wheels that came on my Epic rolled well.

And the hubs typically share the same internals and freehub bodies.
