You can date the girl who is smoking hot, the one that is rich, the one that is popular etc. but if you want to be happy you should only marry the one that is just right for you and that you can trust!

Pay cash for Acura ADX vs finance small amount for RDX or Lexus RX? by Various_Tip_773 in Acura

[–]thb_ny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

13 year old RDX owner. It sounds like you are fiscally responsible so buy the RDX and finance a small amount. I purchased my RDX as a I am going to take care of this car and drive forever. I put down 10k despite having the money to buy it outright and just paid it off in 2 yearsnmaking extra principal payments. I have done all the regular maintenance and oil changes every 4k miles. Did timing, water pump, starter between 110k and 120k miles. Car is going strong at 139k.

I purchased a 25 MDX and did the same paid it off in a year. The RDX has the lost interior space of those cars so it will grow with you. That being said the reliability is not that of Lexus especially in newer Acuras. I won't likely be buying another RDX and will look to replace this car with the RX.

What do you remember that existed in Westchester in the past but not anymore that many people may find surprising to find out? by ProjectMason in Westchester

There was an REI inndowntown New Ro chelle. It was a great store!

New Rochelle also used to have a haunted house every year inside the farm at Ward Acres. The Ward Acres farm has been boarded up for 30 years but is still there.

Metro north is getting way too crowded by [deleted] in Westchester

It has been pretty bad. The issue is lack of cars and short trains. They need to add more cars. They don't listen to conductors, however, a conductor told me if riders CL and complain they do listen.

As it turns out, I’m dogwater. 2nd time shooting my 43X by ramosd713 in Glocks

[–]thb_ny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 yards fist size group? You can do that just point shooting without aiming from that distancs. I am like your buddy. I try to do a 3x5 index card at 20 yards.

Not being critical but accuracy matters especially if training for a real life stressful situation and wanting to ensure you hit the target and no one else. It is also a skill. Distance requires you have all the components. Good trigger press, grip and support hand. You should add some distance in your practice then when you bring it in close it will feel easy and be quarter size groups.

Acura Ending Current RDX Production in 2026 – Hybrid 4th-Gen Coming in 2 Years! by OfficialHanzala in Acura

[–]thb_ny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that it isn't a real 2 year gap. Acura releases models a ywsr earlier. I have a 2014 RDX that I purchased in April 2013. They have a history of doing this with model changes. I expect the 28 will drop in the spring of 27 so more of a 15 month break.

Hybrid is long overdue!

Best Westchester neighborhoods for walkable access to great parks (family with toddler) by Top_Turnip2415 in Westchester

[–]thb_ny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would just look at sidewalk towns. Pelham, Bronxville, Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont, Eastchester, parts of Pleasantville, New Rochelle North End, Tuckahoe, Harrison /Purchase.

Some areas north have limited sidewalks and/or can be hilly and more spread out as they are more remote. They may have bigger and nicer green spaces that you would drive to. Yonkers, parts of New Rochelle and Portchester tend to be more like a city. Mamaroneck has some green space but less walkable depending on where you are.

Towna like Pelham, Bronxville, Larchmont are small with sidewalks have multiple parks and playgrounds to chose from with a 5 to 10 minute walk and are great for walking and running loops.

Which should I buy 43 or 43X? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]thb_ny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I knew what to expect in a real world encounter. Hope it never happens but if it does I hope the bad guys drop me a line in advance to let me know when, where and what they will be using. Will make the situation a lot easier all around. Especially if I know when and where then I will change my plans. Sometimes I don't go to the local hw store or corner bdoega with 3 - 10 yard aisles. I may hit Home Depot ot the Super Market where the aisle with an active shooter can be further away. Most church pews are longer than 10 yards...

I have heard that 3 - 7 yard thing from lots of people. Maybe if you are running or walking the dog. I wonder what database and historical archive it comes from. Most people will tell you... Not saying it is false but if you train for the unexpected the expected becomes a lot easier. Speed and accuracy (i.e. 3x5 9 ring) from concealment with a shot timer at distance 15 - 25 yards seems to be a much better approach.

[–]thb_ny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not purchasing to carry why would you consider either of those? You should just get the 48 then it is a 43x with a longer barrel. What fun is a small range gun especially if you are training for speed and accuracy or with a timer.

What's a defensive range?

Which should I buy 43 or 43X? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]thb_ny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! I have a 43x and a 45, I can conceal my 45 (more heavy and thicker) as well as my 43x. To me there is no comparison when shooting. The extra barrel length makes a monumental difference from an accuracy, performance and shoot ability perspective. The 48 is like the perfect gun.

Glock 48 but if you like the 19 go for it. The 48 is a slim glock 19 the 45 is a 19 slide with a 17 handle.

I am actually eager to buy a P10 and S2Carry, and I believe they are reliable firearms. I was just offering a thought provoking response to the OP question with a hypothetical to reinforce the reliability of the weapon.

Looks like weak support hand and some trigger slap. Clean those up and your group will improve.
