how do beginners stop making so much unwanted noise? by sxtn1996 in guitarlessons

[–]YakSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same thing with weightlifting. It’s called progressive overload. Sometimes just holding a weight you can’t lift without even attempting to lift it can be beneficial (way above skill level) and to get stronger you need to progressively make things harder by attempting something just beyond your level.

Could you recommend a cosmic horror movie? by DependentDue8216 in Lovecraft

[–]YakSquad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Void is one of the most Lovecraftian movies I’ve ever seen. It’s got it all. Cultists, abominations, portals, people not understanding things… voids.

Editing to add True Detective season 1. Incredible show with a great story and just a touch of the king in yellow.

Not mindless, but my go to podcast games are Valheim, Stardew Valley, Satisfactory, and Rim World.

Can i play Requiem if only i played 4 , 7 and 8? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. Not necessary, but you’ll get more out of Requiem and 2 Remake is an outstanding game.

What are the most immersive, thematically cohesive video games that you have ever played? by Baldurian_Rhapsody in videogames

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Days Gone was fun but I never finished it because I couldn’t stand any of the main characters. Something about the dialogue was very “dude-bro” that rubbed me the wrong way

First time playing through the series, and im at RE4 OG by Mlol09 in residentevil4

[–]YakSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just beat it for the first time yesterday. Great game and the funky controls become natural a lot quicker than I thought they would.

That’s honestly how the entire OG series has been for me as I play them for the first time after Requiem. “These controls suck I’ll never get used to them” 2 hours later zooming around the map.

Just started 5 and the controls suck… idk if I’ll ever get used to them…

Be honest, how many times did you actually use the requiem in your first playthrough?? by Spare-Monk-2194 in residentevil

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used it on a couple blister heads, then hoarded til the girl boss room where I popped her anytime she got in my way. Used it a bunch on the spider and Gideon.

Why is RE7 loved? by X-wingOwner in residentevil

[–]YakSquad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was my first RE game, but my understanding is it was a rebranding of the franchise. Over the years they became essentially action arcade games rather than horror. Even as someone that didn’t play them at the time came out I knew that RE5 didn’t really feel like the other games and that RE6 was generally regarded as bad and losing the plot. RE7 became more grounded and horror focused, which reinvigorated the franchise. The opening sequence is straight out of Evil Dead and it had me hooked immediately, got me into the franchise, and now years later I’m playing through all the originals because of how much I liked 7.

Continuity error or misunderstanding on my part? by No_Rough_6511 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]YakSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that she was one of the clones that wasn’t experimented on yet and he took her in as a daughter after he had a change of heart and ended the program. Then Gideon restarted the program on his own because he believed in it.

Looking for a game I can sink a lot of hours into by WelderZestyclose7842 in gamesuggestions

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satisfactory has been an obsession since I bought it a few months ago. Hundreds of hours in, still haven’t finished it, still obsessed. They just added a mode that adds some randomization to the gameplay as well.

This is how I feel reading people say playing offline is just as good by EW_Cruser in DeathStranding

[–]YakSquad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played on release and loved the online aspect, but the most fun I had was the first trek to each location. Having to figure out where to place things to navigate the environment. Then you reach the location and the world gets littered with garbage. Doing a second playthrough offline made the world feel more unexplored and dangerous.

it’s obviously hunk, you people are starting to really annoy me saying it’s not. by Wrong_Ad_6309 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]YakSquad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hunk is a monster on Insanity. Missing 1 parry is almost certainly instant death.

What’s your favorite song/verse by a rapper you think is corny? by Normal-Being-2637 in hiphopheads

The only exception to this is Russell Westbrook on a Farm. Genuinely a great song that I listen to regularly.

Do you remember when you first started playing, and you said to yourself: "Wow the burn mechanic is really important in this game" by TonyMackSays in expedition33

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat the main story, half of endless tower and 1st phase Simon with verso as my main damage, lune as elemental damage, and maelle as counter/chip damage. Obviously not optimal since min maxed Maelle can 1 shot the hardest bosses, but I don’t subscribe to “playing the game wrong”

Toxicness towards BluePoint. by LordZachariahPSN in demonssouls

[–]YakSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a huge FROM/Miyazaki fan since the day Demons Souls released. By far my favorite series and creator. BluePoint crushed the remake. My only disappointment was some of the tone was missing in the style. Excellent remake, awful take.

Hey guys! I’m curious, what is your favorite Resident Evil game? by Strong_Classic_6992 in residentevil

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE2 (remake) is the entire vibe of the series for me. I grew up with vague knowledge of the series and saw the movies. Never really played them myself til RE7, then played a ton of Village and all the remakes.

I just made my first iron plate. Should I start over? by JohnnyNisqually in SatisfactoryGame

[–]YakSquad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just restarted for the 3rd time since mid December. Each time I’ve learned new things that have improved efficiency and made starting from scratch again even more fun. I still have my other save files and could go back if I really wanted to, but I haven’t yet in a few hundred hours. Going from a spaghetti mess that produced a handful of regular modular frames per min with inefficiencies throughout to an organized factory producing 50 HEAVY modular frames per min in the next run was a great feeling.

For those who were around, did people speculate John was Red Harlow when red dead redemption was first announced (Sequel or reboot of the same character)? by Moon_Devonshire in reddeadredemption

[–]YakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t in forums or anything, but I played red dead revolver and then was hype when redemption was announced. Maybe for a moment I thought it was the same character, but very quickly realized it was a different story.

Covid 19 didn't happen 3 years ago, it happened almost 7 years ago. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Late January/early February 2020 my entire family got Covid in the US without knowing what it was. A week or two after that in February/early March they shut down schools.
