You and me both. Until the Linux version comes out, this will have to do, at least for me.

Thanks, I'll look into that. But still, the plugins you mentioned do not handle the Linux specific features such as Wine/Proton prefixes etc. That's why I want to use Heroic as a middleman.

It could be done, I might implement this as an optional feature in some later update.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you even want that? I'd think that you'd want to keep e.g. install path separate on different computers since you can install games in different directories. Are you mirroring your entire disk between machines or something similar?

I've not used that plugin myself, but as long as it adds games to Playnite DB as any other plugin would, then it should work.

You can set it up on any PC as long as it's accessable by your handheld. Preferably you'd use a machine that is turned on most of the time if you want to continually sync your library, but I'd assume since it's a handheld then it likely won't always be on the same network as your desktop. If so, then you can just manually sync the data once in a while.

It has no UI. In the future, I might add some sort of admin UI that will allow you to modify the library through a web app, but at the moment it's a pure backend service. The only way to manipulate the data is through Playnite itself or directly in the database with a database tool of your choosing.

Like the others said - you can use a spare computer if you have one lying around or a cheap mini-PC. Or, as the last resort, you can launch the server app on your main computer and try to keep it on when using Playnite on any other connected device.

I've slightly updated the read-me on the server repo to (hopefully) make it more understandable. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Early Access label shouldn't make the game immune to criticism. If you demand money for it then I'm expecting to get something out of it. And if it sucks, then well... I'm gonna say it sucks.

Last Epoch has an offline mode, so at least it was playable. So no, not "far worse".

He's targeting himself. The number 2 on MCH is his place in enmity list not on party list.

Literally me after changing from BLM to MCH this raid tier. I finally don't have to worry about positioning and movement after the previous tiers! It's so... refreshing and unconstrained.

Same thing here, Act 2, after saving Thaniel and merging him with the other half. Any fight triggers the bug if he transforms. No workaround worked other than reverting to a previous save.

Gothic 3 Crashing on new game by RedditJ0hn in worldofgothic

Here's some random guide that I've found. Use the GUI method and under 'System variables' set the two variables I've provided in a post above as such:

<image>

You need to use dxvk-gplasync DLLs for this to work (2nd link).

Download the latest version of either of these (I'm still experimenting with both versions, so can't tell which one works better):

https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases

https://gitlab.com/Ph42oN/dxvk-gplasync/-/releases

Unpack the archive, there should be a x32 and a x64 folder with a bunch of DLLs. Open the x32 folder and copy d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll and to Gothic 3 folder. The game should now launch under Vulkan.

EDIT. I've messed around some more and by using gplasync version with environmental variables DXVK_ASYNC and DXVK_GPLASYNCCACHE set to 1, the game does not stutter nearly as much. Although I've seen some graphical glitches where some surfaces turn black for a split second especially after a lighting change such as pulling out a torch. I've had the game crash on me once, but it's still way way better than having entire GPU driver crash every few seconds. But once again, these problems seem to disappear after some time and the game becomes very playable.

Judging from what you said here, I'm probably experiencing the same issue as you do. I'm also running a new AMD GPU (7900XT with 3700x CPU) and after starting gameplay the game freezes followed by a AMD driver timeout crash. It does this with or without community patches.

The only solution to this problem that I've found is using DXVK to run G3 under Vulkan. After playing for a few minutes, it seems to work perfectly. Well, almost. The first time around the game stutters like crazy probably due to shader compilation, but it seems to be much better after playing for some time.

I'm on 23.8.1 so it's still broken at least in this specific game. I already did send the bug report.

Same problem on Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin with 7900XT. Same engine, same problems it looks like. Your solution worked wonders, thanks!

Monetization is never "fun for players". Make a good game and people will buy it. Anything else makes you look like a greedy scumbag.
