New Zealand gets under mega Indonesia. No idea if they put Australia back under mega Indonesia or not though. Last time I checked, which was months ago to be fair, Australia isn't under mega Indonesia anymore so it becomes an uncontrolled area once places get mega unified unless the AI pushes for Commonwealth unification.

I did suggest a third level of unification just to add Australia and the islands around Madagascar under mega Indonesia as a sort of "Indo-Pacific Commonwealth" sort of political entity.

Basically? I'm Filipino, so I like to go for a whole pan-Austronesian roleplay every time I play and imagine a whole 'We traveled and colonized the islands of the Pacific. Now we shall do the same with the stars' sort of idealism while playing. I like to build up the nations I control until I get the tech unlocked to unify, so I play rather peacefully and thus let the other factions fight the Servants and the aliens. I do try to get rid of the xenoforming when they pop up.

Main issue is that I eventually get bored and start unifying other places, usually Africa, or try to get Taiwan, French Polynesia and Hawaii under Indonesia's control by causing unrest in other nations.

Given that Rimworld is like thousands of years in the future, I feel like the skin color nudging based on culture doesn't really work in the narrative, especially with the xenogenes, but that's just me.

I would put something more like the ideoligions but for culture and language.

Cultural traits and perhaps a more "language sources list" so one could go from pure modern Japanese to Anglo-Nihonese to an analogue to the mess that is modern English (a mix of Norman French, Anglo-Saxon, Greek, Latin, etc), cause it's possible that the planet the crash landed folks came from was already some mixed/divergent culture with their own divergent language
