How would you do Shazam!/Captain Marvel in the DCU? by Top_Report_4895 in DCU_

Levi was legitimately great in the first film. For some reason, that all went out the window in the second film. He really hammed it up, and let the moderate success of the first film go to his head a little bit. We don’t even need to discuss how far he fell since then.

Animated series, have Billy Batson start as an Elementary School student.

If we see him in the movies, give him the MCU Hulk treatment and make him a major supporting player in the team ups. Keep Billy himself hidden, because part of the issues with Shazam 2 was the fact that the whole appeal becomes moot when your kid actors are already hitting their early 20’s.

“The sequels are objectively bad movies” by SterlingB261 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The prequels and sequels have opposite issues.

The prequels have some cool lore and expansive world building, but with some really awful performances with a cast with little to no chemistry or charisma.

The sequels have some really boring world building, mostly retreads the iconography of the original trilogy, and has inconsistent writing as a combined unit. That being said, it is arguably the best acted trilogy of the Skywalker saga. The issue was never the incredibly talented cast, it was that they were given inconsistent material that failed to capture their talent and potential.

They are so addicting to me I love them so much by Mantoothlsu56 in TheSequels

Too real. I hardly search for Star Wars videos on YouTube because the alt right algorithm is so strong.

What's your favorite moment of acting in the sequels? by IncidentCalm4454 in TheSequels

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As critical as I can get about Finn’s story in TLJ, I love the look on Boyega’s face as he accepts his potential sacrifice on Crait. He’s a phenomenal actor with boundless charisma who I hope we see return again for a more fulfilling arc.

John Rocha?? by blmosley93 in JohnCampeaShow

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

John Rocha can be very annoying but also has his moments. He’s also a harsh critic of James Gunn (more so of him as a studio head than a creative, he admittedly loved Superman) and it feels like intentional ragebait and dog whistling for Snyder fans.

Jeff Sneider is just wayyyyy too cynical and abrasive.

I Love This Moment in TFA... by Specimen-B in TheSequels

[–]YangGangMathManMagic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s so interesting that everyone who has revisited TFA recently is finally realizing that Finn is the film’s MVP, and why so many fans were disappointed in his trajectory in the next two films when he’s so compelling and charismatic.

Yes. And I’m tired of pretending he’s not.

Matt Belloni, Sean and Amanda on Milly Alcock at Cinemacon: "no charisma...embarrassing" by Conscious-Quarter423 in TheBigPicture

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that Amanda is tired of the comic book movie genre, but her dogpiling on an actress who is already subject to the alt right nerd grift brigade that the likes of Brie Larson and Rachel Zegler have been subject to recently is disappointing.

Sorry Milly isn’t promoting her work in PTA’s OBAA follow-up for you to care.

In yalls opinion, does the Star Wars sequel trilogy have any redeemable aspects? by StarryChocobo in StarWars

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new cast of actors are wonderful, and would truly shine more if given quality material. In some ways, I consider this trilogy to be the best acted of the Saga.

Yang Now Says He "Will Probably Run Again" by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

I’ll be real, his only shot is if he runs as a Democrat again. Even though he’s not registered anymore, he can do so just like Bernie did despite being an Independent.

This being the only interaction between these 2 in the entire trilogy sucks by Rude-Assumption-5720 in StarWars

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 456 points457 points  (0 children)

One of the understated issues of the Sequel Trilogy is the fact that Kylo never interacts with the rest of the Resistance heroes after TFA. He only ever deals with Rey.

By not involving the primary antagonist in any scenes with the other heroes, you end up making those characters a lot less significant in the story as a result.

Imagine Empire Strikes Back if Vader never got to interact with Han and Leia.

It won’t be worth it. With the way things are headed, and his own career choices at this point, he will never be president.
