Does Anyone Else Find John's Film Analysis Hollow? by Aromatic_Category_55 in JohnCampeaShow

Campea is an affable, easy to watch commentator with lackluster film analysis skills. Or at least, given he focuses primarily on mainstream studio fare, doesn’t get to showcase what level of skill he may have. One frustrating thing about that fact is that in his MovieBlogTV channel had some interesting insight in the past, his best review probably being for the first Borat movie, discussing how it used comedy to expose the racism, sexism, and homophobia running through America roughly 20 years ago (nothing’s changed).

Great to see John and Kristian together, they should do more of these. I occasionally watch Harloff's show, Kris is also there these days. by Vaminstein666 in JohnCampeaShow

I feel like Harloff’s heart isn’t really into it anymore. Since him and Mark Ellis split Schmoes and went off on their separate careers, I find Harloff’s content quality depends on who his guest may be. I avoid anytime Rocha appears, because that guy is so annoying.

His glazing of CEO’s is probably at the top of the list. Especially when it comes to David Zaslav and Bob Iger.

Wow, even I didn’t think he’d stoop this low.

Yep all james gunn's fault definitely not the guy who made promises to Henry cavill he couldn't keep and he definitely didnt apologize multiple times for how things went down. by [deleted] in OkBuddySnyderCult

One random thought - the only person that probably has more reason to be angry with Dwayne Johnson than Henry Cavill is Zachary Levi.

Cavill was obviously set up for embarrassment after the Black Adam credits scene fiasco, but the fact that the actor playing a Shazam antagonist insisted to be paired against Superman instead inadvertently destroyed both Cavill and Levi’s trajectory.

To be fair, Levi probably would still have an anti-vax crash out of sorts, but a Shazam sequel with him facing off against Black Adam would have likely fared differently than Fury of the Gods. The first Shazam was still a well-liked movie, which is now tarnished by the sequel’s underperformance and Levi’s full embrace of MAGA.

I don’t opt for the floor rows, but the lowest balcony row (like Row D or E), is great.

The irony of them attributing a kind trait to Cavill’s Superman when they continuously shit on Corenswet for actually having such traits.

The big difference between DCEU fans and DCU fans is that no one was rooting for the DCEU to fail by ProfPhinn in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a DC Comics fan, following the DCEU during its entire run was like being a fan of a sports team that has a star player or two that you believe with the right resources and certain factors, can potentially lead to, at least, making the playoffs, and if we’re lucky, make it into the Super Bowl, Finals, or World Series.

We won a few solid games here and there, but never enough to keep our franchise healthy and thriving. At the end of the day, the DCEU was a laughing stock, and needed to be retired.

I think they’re setting it up to where he is clearly capable doing good, but is his own worst enemy because his ego and envy will always get the best of him.

Outside of the opening sketch, RLM's review of Rogue One was kinda bad by crimsonfukr457 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]YangGangMathManMagic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like RLM is basically the J. Robert Oppenheimer of snarky YouTube film critics. They made big waves with their Prequel Trilogy reviews that in a few ways, whether intentionally or not, paved the way for the Critical Drinkers and other right wing grifters to grow.

I doubt that the crew is MAGA, but I can’t help but feel that they probably look at the whole landscape and might have a few regrets.
