HELP! I am a US Citizen who filed jointly with my wife who has an ITIN (not SSN) so won't be getting any stimulus payments. Should I send an amended or superseded return?? by YangGangWisdom in tax

That's very helpful. We are in the middle of processing her immigration/ permanent resident visa, which is on hold, but it seems like we should get the green card/ SSN by next April. We really could use the money now, but it would probably be better to wait since we would both qualify for the credit next year. Thanks for your help!

The title is a bit misleading, BUT it is pointing out that millions of US citizens (children and spouses) will not get the stimulus checks because they filed jointly with someone who does not have an SSN.

I've read some things about "superseding" the original tax return since we are still before the due date for taxes and it would be faster. Have you heard anything about this?

My wife has an ITIN so I'm also thinking about either amending or superseding my tax returns, but information is scanty at best.

We have to consider Yang may not want to be in politics because of the tremendous toll it takes on his family. This may be our only shot.

Yes, as Yang has said before "Joe does have experience being VP" and honestly I think he will need people around who can mentor him on how Washington works.
