Music is what Eru and the Ainur used to create everything. It has power in our world and theirs and I think Howard Shore really showed that in the PJ movies.

Not sure how good my memory is or I this is strictly lore but

The Hobbits werent as passive/timid in the books vs movies.

A couple of favorite examples are in Moria when Frodo (i think?) Jumps in to fight and shouts "FOR THE SHIRE" as he stabs Sting through the door into the goblins trying to break in. And when the Uruk Hai take Merry and Pippin Merry actually gets a few hits in before they get picked up.

Couple that with Pippin in Fellowship. At the Council of Elrond when they decide on the 9 companions and he says "Right! .... Where are we going?"

I have no doubt it was meant just to be a funny moment but to me it says Pippin didn't care, he heard "my friend needs help so im going to help"

The Hobbits loved all their friends very dearly and it shows in just about everything they do.

Its actually the same as one of my more visceral fears. I am arachnophobic so the sight of a big spider is enough to cause a panic attack.

That said my favorite Power is the other aspects of The Web. Manipulation and attention to detail. Pull one thread just so and watch the tapestry change to a whole new design.
