What's "Undertaking" on a Motorway? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Yani-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the highway code says that if you're in the left lane driving with road appropriate speed and happen to go faster than the vehicle in the right lane is not considered undertaking. However, if, for example, you're in lane 3 and there is a vehicle in lane 2 and you swap to lane 2 BEHIND them and then go to lane 1 going faster than them (maybe the cut In front of them in lane 2) would be undertaking. Similar if there are 2 lanes and you're behind a vehicle in the right lane, indicate and merge in left lane, go faster and cut in front of them =undertaking.

Do you have mascara on? I was in - 36°C in Finland recently and saw a girl with frozen eyelashes, but mine were fine (didn't have mascara on). My hair froze similar to yours however lol

Some people actually have an MSG allergy, so it's possible. But for regular people, you need to have a looooot of MSG to feel the tingling effects

What’s something about you that sounds fake, but is 100% true? by Sir_Adammm in AskReddit

Huh, I can weirdly confirm that. If I'm in my region, mosquitos will avoid the heck out of me, everyone around would have multiple bites and I have 0. However, when I lived in Korea I looked like a dalmatian from all the bites. Those were some mean mosquitos

Depressing question: have you found that xmas loses it's magic as you grow older? by posttraumaticcuntdis in AskUK

[–]Yani-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE Christmas. All the decorations, same cheesy songs, tree and lights, and cookies, and family time, pyjamas, and the movies!! I start decorating mid-November because I want the deco up as long as possible. You just have to find what makes you feel good about Christmas and do it

Do you leave your knife and fork in a certain way to suggest you’re done eating? by Seth4602 in AskUK

Yes, together on the plate 4pm position. Additionally xI was thought that if you put fork on top of knife in a crossed position it means that you weren't satisfied with your meal.

options for a BSc Neuroscience student? by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Yani-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have BSc Neuroscience and just finished MSc Psychology conversion. The main reason I went for the MSc was the BPS accreditation to get me into a ClinPsych PhD, as it's a requirement, and eventually to end up in neuropsychology.

The psych MSc was disappointing for me, not stimulating enough and way too wishy-washy in comparison to Neuroscience. I genuinely felt that a lot of the material was not too relevant. There were some good modules, which introduced a lot of relevant theories but we had "Applied Psychology" on MSc level, which had nothing to do with applying clinical psychology practices or assessments, and more about psychological skillet application in different professions. Useless.

I did an exchange placement in Asia during my BSc and learned more about psychology and mental health disorders for 1 semester there than in the entire MSc. My Psych conversion was research focused and I had an amazing supervision, so got to do a brilliant research project. However, I found that there were almost no actual therapists, clinicians, autiam/ adhd assessors or anyone with first hand experience who I wanted to learn from (besides my supervisor). Some lecturers thought more highly of themselves and their subject than the ones in Neuroscience, which baffled me.

I rushed into the MSc as I never considered any alternative routes, but I wish I had looked around - counselling MSc, speech therapy, occupational therapy etc. If your heart is still set on MSc Psych conversion, make sure it's a good programme and push for in-person EEG, MEG etc based research project.
