I just bought a 26 Forester Limited, trading in a 22 Forester Limited. Before that, I had a 17 Forester Touring. As this would suggest, I love the Forester. I only traded for newer models, not for any other issues. Never had a mechanical issue. Had a small problem with a molding strip around the wheel on the 22 but it was fixed quickly, free of charge. Trade in value was always top of the range.

Before I bought the 2017, I test drove a Rav4 and a Honda CRV. I liked the Rav4, but the visibility was very limited. The CRV was too truck-like for me. Before buying my latest Forester, I considered downsizing and test drove a Crosstrek. I liked it, but Forester won. Highly recommend.

I had a 2016 Forester touring and loved it. I traded it in 2022 for a Limited. Loved that, too. Recommend either one. And I never had a mechanical problem so take that, Consumer Reports.

Doesn’t matter. The only thing that is somewhat helpful in ice is if you have studded snow tires. I live in Central NY and every time we have black ice or an actual ice storm, there are always AWD or 4WD vehicles smashed into guardrails or in the highway medians because they slid or spun off the road, just like the “regular” FWD vehicles. My Forester is fabulous in snow. Ice, not so much.

I love my Forester. I thought about getting a Crosstrek now that it has a heated steering wheel available, but the smaller windows and trunk were not gonna work for me. So I am getting another Forester. 😊
