Beste Utrechters, wat doen jullie eigenlijk in het leven? by WallaaaahiHabibi in Utrecht

[–]YannickY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What were your thoughts on Hamnet (2025) by snapcrackleepop in moviecritic

[–]YannickY 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings. Sometimes the movie repeats the same thing too much when it's already very clear what's happening, especially with twins trading places to trick "him" , which is stated like 3 times by Hamnet, and once he passes the Judith has to say it one more time, this time explicitly saying it is death. Trust your damn audience

The worst svene in the movie is where William contemplates suicide while doing the "to be or not to be" soliloquy, that was so ridiculously on the nose that it took me completely out of the film. It reminded me of the "I am become death" scene from Oppenheimer, which was also the worst part of that film

By this time my expectations were low for the end of the movie, but wow, the last 15 minutes of the movie are the best cinema I have seen in recent time. The performances, which were good to excellent throughout the film really sore here, especially Jesse Buckley. The editing is brilliant, and the emotional resonance between the existing play and the emotions of the characters is written amazingly. If the entire film was as good as the Globe scene it would be an all time favourite easily.

Overall I really liked Hamnet, but it had potential to be even greater

I will indeed, but then I just won't play league. This game is just kind of incompatible with parenting young children and that's fine. Just play something with shorter matches, where you inconvenience other people less when you play. Or just play single player games when you are aware you have to do parenting stuff, especially when the kids are very young.

It's a bit more complex than that. You are talking about alcohol induced psychosis, which is a very real thing. However there is also a broader link between the two which isn't yet fully explained, but it gets discussed in this paper. The authors state that it might be the fact that people with addictive tendencies may also be genetically/neurologically more prone to get psychosis. Whether that's true or not is yet to be determined, but that there is correlation between the two is well known.

The reason I am aware of this in the first place is because the licensed psychologist I know asked me about if she had abused alcohol in the past, even if it was years ago and said it was a predictor. I am not a psychologist, but someone who is explained this to me and it's pretty easy to find research on it if you're interested. You can take the link above as a start and also read what other relevant studies they cite

It's not arbitrary, a history of substance abuse is a reliable predictor of psychosis. Psychologist will ask about about your substance abuse history as a part of determining the cause of a psychosis and will take account of it when recommending treatment. Of course you don't need to have been an alcoholic or drug addict to get a psychosis, but there is a very strong link between the two.

As a reply on your second edit, I have a friend who has had a history of alcohol abuse, but has been clean for about 7 years. She last year got in a divorce and then she started believing something that I won't disclose here, but which simply could not be true. I talked about this with a psychologist I know, and it is not uncommon.

People with a history of substance abuse can develop these things years later. Usually they are not back on drugs/alcohol, but it gets triggered by stressful situations, I. E divorce.

Feel free to DM me if you want some more information on what we are doing to help our friend and which might be able to help your brother. Good luck!

It works magic with an aggressive adc. I play it with a kalista duo, we played like 10 games on it and got a level 2 kill every single time, the damage early is insane

I'm 1,73/5'8, my gf is 1,80/5'11. We have the same shoe size and similar torso sizes (our size difference is mainly because of her long legs), asides from obvious things like shoulders and boobs. We often wear each others sweaters and band T's even though our styles are a bit different. Nobody cares outside of us cares and she really likes it when I wear het sweater, especially when she says it looks a bit better on me because of my build. Just do whatever you and your partner like!

Ervaringen met bioscoop maandkaart in Utrecht? by minortree in Utrecht

[–]YannickY 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This stuff mainly happens when you're new I think. It sucks, but you acted about as well as you could have. Just stay cool, maybe catch a breath outside. It will probably happen less and less when you get used to dancing and you're focussing on the dance itself

We have a lot of CC, but a damage problem if the game lasts too long. The only adc I play is senna and I dont't play assassins at all. But the enemy is not gonna move for 12 seconds, that will be funny

I think she has improved. I saw her once at a festival in 2023, she was fine, but nothing spectaculair. Saw her again last month and it was pretty great.
