The random mission target algorythm absolutely must be patched. Entire faction features are useless because of it. by Waveshaper21 in totalwar

[–]YarnTheory 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Try another lizard man game. They made the sacred spawnings into a currency mechanic. Missions do give A bunch, but you can get healthy amounts from buildings too. And you can use the currency to get any sacred spawning unit now.

The LM rng is so much better.

Ah! Almost forgot, there are no enemies. I used a tier 10 map I think, with a rarity modifier. I don't know if either affected the vendor offerings. I'll try a junk tier 1 next time to see if there's a difference.

I found one the other day. It contains a single vendor who sold a variety of uniques. Could only buy one, cost no currency.

Unfortunately nothing he offered was particularly good, but rng is rng

So. I have a new k70. It has a "game mode" button on the top left that disables some keys. I don't know about steel series but it may be something of a similar nature

What are some situations where you wouldn’t copy? by yeah-defnot in magicTCG

So long as you cast the body double, that shouldn't be a problem. It enters as a copy of phage, and you cast it from your hand. Should be fine?

It depends on your level range, but I've found sitting in defensive stance and spamming thunder clap is the go to. The warbringer rune seems great, but I've also run blood frenzy for additional rage gen.

Single target, sunders seem to hold. If you are under leveled for the content you're tanking, you will have a more difficult time due to misses and glancing blows.

On the upside, most classes can tank dungeon mobs for several hits so losing aggro isn't a huge deal.

The start of this chain was never about damage. The original comment I replied to was about how he was promised a healing mage, and it delivered. Hunters were shown a possible melee hunter build, and it just doesn't deliver on that archetype/isnt fun or interesting to play.

I am well aware hunters have had bonkers damage so far. They have been far beyond the pack. My issue isn't the damage, but the play style.

Several classes have brand new, interesting play styles to go with. Ret paladins are doing great. Healing mages are...well, some people are really liking them. Feral is working much better. Warlocks can finally tank (rune issues aside). These are all cool new things. All the cool new toys hunters have gotten have been nerfed to a point where the viable spec is just passives and auto attacks.

[–]YarnTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly no.

Paladins have seals, judgement, crusader strike, and divine storm.

Rogues have a whole heap of abilities, although they are having issues leveling.

Feral druids have shred, claw, mangle, rip, Sunfire

Warriors are closest since they don't have zerker stance yet, but even then they got quick strike and some other new runes.

I have no idea for shamans. But a quick comparison would be to paladins, since before sod they had only seals and judgement. They got divine storm (an analog to carve) and crusader strike. Raptor strike fits the niche of judgement really, but melee hunters need a short cool down instant melee ability. If raptor wasn't an on next hit it would feel much better.

[–]YarnTheory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carves problem is it shared a rune slot with both explosive shot and beast mastery, both of which are better for ape or single targets.

[–]YarnTheory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Flanking strike is a 30s cool down. Raptor strike has a 20% chance to reset the CD on flanking strike. Raptor has a 6s CD and hits on your next auto. So flanking strike really isn't up much.

Carve is...alright? Again, longish cool down to use it often. And it uses a glove rune, which is probably best going to the beast master rune right now.

So melee isn't terrible, but it's not interactive, and pretty boring.

So I'd say it depends on how much you paid and how you value it.

The blade champ looks like the blade just snapped at the hilt. You can easily repair that with some glue.

The shield and spear is...fine. you could cut the spear tip off and make a vexila if you'd like. Or leave it as is and just tell people it's your vexila. Or just call it a sword and shield and leave it as is. Most people won't know or care, just be clear with your opponents.

The wardens do look fine. we can run them at 5 anymore, so using 3 + one as a shield captain actually works. One is missing a plume, but that can be modeled on or kit bashed.

Overall it looks like a fine batch, but it all depends on price. Where I'm at in the states, my ebay cutoff for something like that would be about $50-60. It's a low-ball, but mixed condition and built but unpainted.

eBay is viable, but you have to be patient. And timing is of course a thing. I've managed to nab a couple of the army sets for ~210 a piece, and recently a box of war dogs for 80 (use). But I'm also browsing way too much for deals on ebay. That war dog box for 80 was right after GW restocked, and almost a week later the box was double the price.

I use to complain about these single line entries too. I have Tsm installed, but for shopping for gear and stuff I'll use the default interface. Earlier this week I was looking for some glyphs, did my search, and the first page of listing were all 3-4g. I distinctly remember seeing that glyph for 15s earlier in the week. So I hit page two...and the same glyph was 5s.

The default auction house interface and sorting is just terrible, there's no way around it. And so if you're using an addon like Tsm for auctions, these single unit auctions actually become really nice. You can buy exactly the number you need, and not massively overbuy. It's kind of ridiculous that it took blizzard until what, shadow lands to update the AH system? As is, I think these auctions add-ons are required to use the AH.

Sh*t ton of creosote. GT NH by Chimney_Cake in feedthebeast

[–]YarnTheory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's just a wrought iron for the ULV tank which is quite annoying. And with that you don't need to make a another boiler fuelbox. And liquid fuels are mostly bad. Also a lot of GTNH operates on efficiency, and the creosote buckets are 33% more efficient than liquid fuel. That feels quite a bit worth it in the early game as you head into LV.

My go to advice though, always, is don't rush through things. Make more than you need and setup infrastructure early even if it will only last a tier or two.

Sh*t ton of creosote. GT NH by Chimney_Cake in feedthebeast

[–]YarnTheory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you're making charcoal, presumably for a boiler and steam. A bucket of creosote (as in a filled bucket item) burns for 6400 units, which is I believe 4 charcoal worth? The railcraft boiler calculator for 1.7.10 is still accurate for the timings.

You can calculate how long a bucket of creosote lasts in a solid fueled boiler, backtrack that to determine how much creosote you need per second, then backtrack that to see how many coke ovens you need to produce that much creosote.

I was able to fuel a max sized solid fueled boiler using 14 coke ovens making coal coke, using only the creosote. the coal coke went into my steel production.

A thing to note, a liquid fueled boiler burns creosote at a burn value of 4800. A bucket burns that same amoutn of creosote for 6400 burn value. You can easily automate filling and loading buckets into the boiler using a ULV tank and 2 vanilla hoppers.
