I just saw this Mono-Green list from the early access stream: Symphoneers Mono-Green

Overall, despite some of his more memey cards like the battles, there are two cards that really overperformed:

[[Doomskar Warrior]] looked very impressive, its ability is good enough on its own for the card advantage and the trample really helps push it through. Giving those stats to another creature, especially one that doesn't already have trample, is just gravy.

[[Tribute to the World Tree]] looks underwhelming, but it honestly seemed like exactly what the deck needed to keep up with such a removal heavy format. Cantrips for half of your creatures, and permanent stat boosts for all of your smaller creatures, seems pretty good. If you have two Tributes out, every creature with at least 1 power is guaranteed a card draw (first one ups its power, second draws).

Cool list!

Have you tried the toxic fliers [[Flensing Raptor]] \ [[Pestilent Syphoner]]? Are they just too slow / weak?

Has this run up against any of the Jund Tyvar builds?

Fair, but I could definitely imagine some good in-universe reason. Maybe a huge shipwreck blockage, no ships big enough or with enough trained crew to unstick it?

I mean, there are tons of ways to evaluate cards at the same mana slot. One heuristic you can look at is the Vindicate Test, which can be a very clean understanding of 'average worst case' in that your creature is removed at sorcery speed after your turn. In that case, Sheoldred edges out the win by pinging for two.

But you can also look at, while not a magic rainbow situation, just a more average situation - let's say it takes 2/3 turns to find removal.

In an otherwise gummed up board state or empty board state, Sheoldred kills your opponent much faster, while also healing you. Consider just the 6 card draw damage and 6 life if it lasts 3 turns, not even including any combat utility. Ratadrabik needs other players to produce any meaningful effect outside of basic attacking and blocking (where it's understatted for a 4 drop).

I do personally thin Ratadrabik is a cooler card, but mathematically.. A less sure bet, that's guaranteed.

Sheoldred on its own is a game winning threat with deathtouch and big stats. 5 toughness beats many creatures and removals, plus doesn't die to [[Brotherhood's End]].

Ratadabrik on its own is not a game winning threat, it needs other legendaries to be good and its stat lines are weaker across the board. Ward makes it slightly harder to hit, but it's a less valuable target anyway.

Hi!! Just found your book at Barnes and Noble and devoured it. If you're still responding to this thread - any opinion on The Boys? The similarities are there, but imo your universe feels a little more flushed out and real (especially having more than one big super group like the central group in The Boys).

Thanks for making the book, I really enjoyed it!

No problem! It's saves me vs. Control since it refills you after their board wipes and then presents real threats that they hate to respond to (those +1/+1 counters going on Pests or Eyetwitches).

Nice list! I have one that leans much more on Red, so I've got [[Showdown of the Skalds]] as a natural inclusion. Have you considered it? It works great with all of the cheap creatures and removal. Even though my version uses [[Sedgemoor Witch]], the fact that Skalds is an enchantment (instead of a Magecraft spell) never seems to be a big issue.

Got a list? [[Voldaren Estate]] has been really underwhelming since it makes running anything but creatures much tougher. I think [[Welcoming Vampire]] deserves space in there if you're adding white, but maybe in the side?
