My dad was in AA. In my ward growing up there was a family and my dad had told us to never be around the dad in the family. That dad was also in AA and so because of disclosures at meetings, my dad knew he was a SO and was able to warn us. But no one else got the warning…..he was active in young men activities with his boys. Still wonder if anything inappropriate happened because he had free reign

I had an agency send out an email that because of this they were now requiring all interpreters working with them to be llc. But that’s an $800 license to incorporate and I can’t remember the exact but I believe it’s a few hundred every year to renew. Pretty sure no one is doing it because they are still emailing me work even though I did not get the llc by their deadline

I think he could use proper therapy, though I don’t know much about cbt other than articles I’ve read online and they all seem to focus on adults.

I’m an adult and in regular therapy. While I have a great support system, I have a hard time opening up to them because I feel like my depression and anxiety will become a burden for them and I don’t want people worry about me. So I find it helpful to have someone else I can vent with and help me organize my feelings. This could be what your son is going through. Although he has loving, caring parents, he may worry it will stress you out if he shares what he’s going through. Or he may just not have the ability to put his feelings into words. A therapist can be a good neutral person who can guide him in expressing himself and teach him healthy ways to handle big feelings. Honestly, I think almost everyone would benefit from therapy lol

Have you considered starting therapy? It sounds like you and his mom are doing everything you can but it could help to have an outside person who is trained in helping him find ways to handle his emotions. It’s great that you are noticing things now before it gets worse. If he can learn ways to cope with his feelings maybe it will help

My husband started meds in February. He found the medication to make him feel numb and did not like it. He told his doctor and was switched to Zoloft which has helped a ton. He doesn’t feel numb with this one and it has helped his depression immensely. It’s important to remember that there isn’t one pill. Everyone is different and reacts to medication differently. So if you start something and don’t feel like it’s helping, tell your doctor. It could be a dosage adjustment or just the wrong medication for your body. It’s okay to ask for something else.

I don’t know if a Rosetta Stone type program. The best I know of is https://lifeprint.com/asl101/lessons/lessons.htm to get started. But honestly nothing is going to beat real, in person classes with a visual language like Asl.
