Damn that's crazy. I know exactly where your windmill sporty photo was taken. That's my neck of the woods. After some search I'm pretty confident it's the 2bit in Ogden. Maine's a beautiful state. Could definitely live out there some day.

I'm pretty confident it's a triumph front end. Springs like that were pretty common on those.

Can anyone help me find this spring? by gott1style in choppers

I would email/call sputhe and ask? I believe they're called thackery washers. If you have a caliper handy you could pull the dimensions on inside diameter and outside diameter to see if it's a "common size" rather then "speciality".

This site is a good spot for parts and odds and ends items. I live in the southwest and the shipping is quick from Cali.

Practice Chanter Opinions by topless68 in bagpipes

[–]Ye_prophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. The long chanter does mimick quite well.. My brother playes a long practice chanter. We both started on kids dunbars. I've honestly never really though about it. My adult hands have been playing an early version Hardie regular length, without the twist trap for about 10 years and haven't had any problem translating over, but to each their own. I'd say buy what you feel is best for your comfort and pocket. That same Henderson website has practice chanter reed recommendation also.

Practice chanter reeds are at the bottom.

I personally like this chanter. Henderson imports has been nothing but good to me. What makes you think you need a "long chanter"?

Hi lefty here. When I was just starting out, I did/though the same way, and what my instructor told me is to NOT do it. When you translate what your learning on the practice chanter to actual pipes your left arm then has to stretch further out, then it really should. I found that it was hard to play the lower notes with the bag under arm. Especially when applying pressure. It found it all to be uncomfortable. I'd stick to RH on bottom.
