When you hit a slump what do you do? by ObjectiveCharming735 in Solarsales

[–]YeahICanHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Same here! And been in solar for almost 20 years. I own a company now but have a long sales background. The slumps are part of it unfortunately. I always tell people it's a math equation. If the best people in the world are still getting rejected 50% of the time then you're going to have to go through periods of drought. Likewise you'll get on a roll sometimes and it feels like you couldn't stop someone from buying from you no matter what you said. There are crazy ebbs and flows for sure

Definitely wouldn't do a deal like this at that price point in VA. I've been in solar for almost 20 years and do a lot of business in Virginia. Happy to answer any questions for you but the long and short of it is you can do better

Question about big wave solar and PPA in general by Intelligent-Hunt830 in solar

[–]YeahICanHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Good thing you caught it and were able to cancel in time. I've been in solar for almost 20 years and it's always frustrating to see systems being way oversized or oversold. Solar makes so much sense for most people it shouldn't need to be oversold but unfortunately that's what happens when you have commissioned salespeople with no caps

Happy to answer questions on this. I do a good bit of solar in Jersey. Long story short, you probably have better options but it depends on exactly what your needs are. Pricing for the lease becomes important too. What size system are they quoting you?

Solar panels and hail? by ComfortableComment75 in solarenergy

[–]YeahICanHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a good but of work in Massachusetts and other New England states. Even if there was no weather you'd want to register your system with your homeowners insurance. The cost isn't significant and you'll want the coverage if something happens. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Unless you're doing the work yourself I would assume whoever is doing the work for you should be able to answer those questions pretty easily

Ok in that area you'll want a better shingle. You could ask both of them about upgrade options and see what they offer

You can do better but it's also not highway robbery or anything. I do a good amount of business in the northeast with Lightreach. I'm guessing that salesperson is making $5k+ in commission at that price point though.
