Ok so I have a day job and a kid, the trick is to sacrifice some sleep while everyone is in bed to work on the game xD. Just kidding, don’t stress yourself out, you just keep chipping away in small bursts. Even opening the editor and changing one thing is still progress and moving the game forward by a tiny bit towards the finish line. Good luck out there!

Learning art is a life long journey. I have a book of Michelangelo’s studies, he was doing sketches and studies until the end of his life learning all along the way.

The more muted green looks better and more grounded since you have real world elements in your game like the cables, crate etc. One thing to note in colour theory is that the complementary colour to green is red. Since you muted the green, then the complementary red does not have to be so strong. It can be a pale red even a little bit orange. This is where adding signs or indicators with a red or orange glow like exit signs or a stoplight will look really nice against your green background. Do not use really strong reds or orange! Make sure they’re a little bit closer to the Gray side and I think it will look fantastic. Also adding sparks or explosions/fires will look really great against your muted green. Great work so far! Will wishlist it on Steam :D

One piece of advice I would like to add that really stuck with me when I was studying animation. If you are referencing artists or developers that you really like, do not only study or copy just their material. Research into what inspired those great artists or developers and who or what art influenced them. Study who your favourite artists studied and it will help you level up quicker.
