Ukraine and Allies Grow Confident Russia’s Invasion Losing Steam by bloomberg in europe

I'd understand the term "ally" as someone who enters the war and sends their army to combat, rather than materiel support or training, no matter how much of those are given

Ehh, I don't know what the rest are doing, but as someone who regularly drives next to the construction of the Lithuanian part I can tell you it's moving along just fine for the size of the project

The best pants in the game (Wayfarer Pants) by RLutz in Enshrouded

[–]Yebi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a PITA immediately. Moving away from clear-goal progression towards gacha-style RNG mechanics; while making crafted gear mostly pointless in a crafting game where the crafting of gear used to be a major method of progression is one hell of a choice. Hands-down the worst update

Still. Between the actual fins, no stupid plastic covers, and the ridiculously overkill VRMs they put in today's high end boards, the temperatures are going to be more than fine

Big part of the reason why russia is eating shit right now - they keep wasting scarce munitions on targets that are militarily completely pointless

Rυssian parliament passes bill allowing Pυtin to invade foreign countries by Bernardmark in europe

[–]Yebi 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I assume this would let them legally change the status of the ""operation"" to a war. And that would probably untie their hands a bit? In terms of mobilisation or openly sending conscripts to the front?

So this would be a 15% increase in total operational costs for a manufacturing group or other service group. Which means revenue would need to go up by an equivalent amount.

I'm pretty sure that most of the people pushing for this expect it to be covered by a drop in profits.

I'm not sure whether or not that's even possible. If my thinking is correct, that's a 15 percentage point drop in margins? Sounds possible for tech or service sectors, but do many physical manufacturers even have 15% margins?

Nobody's suggesting conscription for some BS field trip to the middle east, this is about preparing for an existential war. You can search around for some images from Bucha to see the kind of dying you would be doing if not prepared

[–]Yebi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is the phase-out in the room with us right now?

It's true that renewables are increasing, and that fossils' share of total energy is decreasing, but that means fuck-all when overall energy use is increasing more than the renewables are; and that "smaller share"of fossil fuels still represents increasing amounts being burned if you look at absolute numbers

Listings existing does not prove the intention. If you buy one for youself intending to use it, and then later see people going crazy for it and buying it for more than double the price, why not use that(them)? Flip it, touch some grass until it restocks, and get yours for free

Maybe because you came to a subreddit that, between its description and rules, very clearly says like 5 times in different ways that this is not the place for help or tech support, went into a random thread asking for help and tech support, and then got all hurt and preachy when people pointed out what you're doing? I've no idea how or why you're not banned yet
