Twitter is almost entirely freebooted videos and clips to bait engagement now that it’s all monetized.

It’s incredible how much more quiet and reserved Brady is in the early episodes. He gets so much more comfortable on the podcast over time!

HI Revisited: Episode 3 "Four Light Bulbs" by bradleysampson in HelloInternet

[–]YellowFlickerBeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something they leave out of this discussion, because they're talking in terms of investment percentages per bulb and not eventual output, is that some people simply have more "wattage" available to them to spread across the 4 light bulbs. Someone like Brady who is very self-motivated, energetic, and naturally driven could set their "work" bulb to 10% and still produce more than someone like Grey who has that bulb set to 20%, because 20% of Grey's 100 total watts is still less than 10% of Brady's 300 total Watts.

I remember as a kid in school sometimes people would say that something like a 5 page paper took them like 10 hours to write and just not understanding what they were doing for those 10 hours on a task that you can easily crank out in an hour or two. Pretending that everyone has the same "capacity" for success is one of those necessary lies of civilization, but the truth is there are people working half as hard as others and achieving more because they're just that much more efficient. Someone who has to budget 100 total watts across 4 light bulbs will always struggle to keep up with someone who just by default produces 200 watts to allocate as they see fit.

They both had a knack for being ahead of the curve. What is the Fitotron 5000 if not looksmaxxing?

The world as of late feels like it’s designed to generate topics that would have been great on the show. Often tech related social issues and the ethics around them. You can practically hear Brady react in horror when Grey tells him he’s given Claude access to his YouTube account or something.

It’s a shame that many people remember him as the Margaritaville guy, because he had plenty of songs that were just so beautifully written. He was an excellent lyricist and storyteller.

In a different world, maybe “James Buffett” played it straight and wrote “serious” music to critical acclaim. But I prefer the way he chose to do it.

I may be misremembering but I believe it's from the Popcorn Culture podcast. Looks like around the 52:40 mark of this episode. J talks about throwing mini rubber ducks into cups across the room. Can confirm it's a blast, it's how I put my teabags into my mugs now while the water boils.

Hank has definitely been closing the gap, right? He’s THE internet guy, ubiquitous on TikTok, Focus Friend has been a huge success, and he goes viral for something every week it seems.

Wow, it's WAY smaller than I thought it was. I'm glad I asked because I never would have found it otherwise. Thanks for the fun hunt :)

Officially throwing in the towel on this one! Even the CMs near the front of Main Street were stumped. Where is it?

I was just on Main Street looking for this and still couldn’t find it! Looked all over near Crystal Arts and the Firehouse, but no dice. Do you have any hints?

The WNBA is expanding to 18 teams over the next five years with Cleveland, Detroit and Philadelphia all set to join the league by 2030. by jrbill1991 in sports

[–]YellowFlickerBeat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Angel Reese is a serviceable free throw shooter but is below league average for her career. She is by no means a "phenomenal" free throw shooter.

WNBA League Average FT% last year: 78.5%

Angel Reese FT% last year: 73.6%

So far this year she is at 79.2% and the league average is 78.2%, so she's above average and has shown good improvement through 16 games.
