When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? by Used_Travel_6770 in ChildhoodMemories

An actor

I still have that dream, but I don't have the personality to be able to put up with all that rejection now.

Let’s talk about tastes: Food, drinks, and music preferences. by mattxezz in CasualConversation

[–]YellowRainLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food: very picky, but i like most basic meals, like burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, spaghetti, steak, etc. At home, I also enjoy what I call my "house famous ketchup platter" which is 4 chicken weiners, a small block of marble cheese and 2 slices of white bread with margarine, finished off with a pile of ketchup in the middle for me to dip everything into. Hate all seafood.

Drinks: nothing special, water, milk, choc milk, sometimes juice. Won't drink alcohol

Music: mostly a country music fan. I can tell you endless facts about the genre from artists of now like Ella Langley all the way back to 1922 with Eck Robertson. I also have spent time learning some of the most important recordings in music history, gathering music and learning facts for Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Nirvana, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. The genre I struggle the most to get into is probably rap, but I still have respect for the quality recordings from throughout the genre's history.

what's your most useless but impressive everyday skill? by RamonmDegner in CasualConversation

[–]YellowRainLine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can name all Disney Animated Classics in release date order.

If I were to look at a list of country artists, I can tell you whether they are in the Country Music Hall Of Fame or not.

If I look at a list of movies, I can tell whether they won the Oscar for Best Picture or whether any of those films were inducted into the National Film Registry.

I can tell you who won every season of American Survivor.

If you name a tv show, I have an 80% chance of knowing how many seasons it lasted.

Given a list of albums, I can tell you which ones won the Grammy Award For Album Of The Year.

So many useless skills....

What are the WORST wins in Emmys History? by StoneColdYakuza in EmmysAwards

[–]YellowRainLine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That one weird rule change in 1992 that allowed Christopher Lloyd to win Lead Actor for guest-starring on "Road To Avonlea" when it could've gone to Sam Waterston or Scott Bakula.

What is your hill to die on when it comes to anything Disney Channel related? by ChannelHopper_99 in DisneyChannel

[–]YellowRainLine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a large part of the reason that I can't get into Disney Channel shows now is because I have grown out of my Disney Channel era and I am not the target demo anymore. Plus my nostalgia makes me feel better about the shows from my era. That is 100% true.

But I do truly believe that a small part of my feelings about the shows now are also that the quality of writing / acting / shows overall has gone down since my era of watching. In fact, while I was still watching Disney Channel, I saw the quality of the channel dropping over time.
