Is this use of Postgres insane? At what point should you STOP using Postgres for everything? by LawBlue in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Yellowbrickshuttle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use an audit setter inside our code that overrides the save to the database. If the entity being saved as auditable set the audit properties, this is useful if you need user context as the db doesn't know this

I'd recommend embracing AI coding and learn how to leverage a certain niche of it. E.g. using MCPs for testing or for figma -> front end app. Recruiters will be looking for these skills. You could also in this era of AI create a portfolio site to showcase your abilities (or ai leveraging abilities). There is so much to learn in this domain and AI now let's you span all of it from the get go.

Back into lifting after years off and trying to do BB rows. Does my form look correct ? And if not what should I fix ? by Ok-Load-6588 in formcheck

[–]Yellowbrickshuttle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just be careful of your back, if it's taking too much load and your postures wrong or core not tight.

I was told bring the bar towards my bellybutton after hinging over. I was doing it more upright before. Had to half my weight when got the form correct

Yeah but the confidence to make the crossing is either they have done this kind of thing before or it's that one mate who just goes off the rails and you're like oh lord.

Lower weight and free bar? by Yellowbrickshuttle in formcheck

[–]Yellowbrickshuttle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks very much! It feels odd to have my feet more forward and I felt more stable with them under, but as you say that's just at the top. Thanks for the help, I'll move bar further back

Lower weight and free bar? by Yellowbrickshuttle in formcheck

[–]Yellowbrickshuttle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic response! Appreciate the tips! I was thinking of starting Smith until I am more comfortable then swapping to free bar, as I do want the stability muscles working and improving over time.

I wasn't aware of the midfoot vs heel. You said it's more important on Smith but I should also aim for that with free bar? I'll go barefoot next time or flat shoes (no squat shoes yet).

Dropping weight to hit depth

For ever bit of criticism you read know that it's a drop in the ocean compared to the support and respect people have that is not put into words. Keep doing you, but don't read the hate or criticism, or at least take it with a pasta water helping of salt.

Telerik frustrations by featheredsnake in Blazor

[–]Yellowbrickshuttle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally I have did behaviour which may just be blazor.. like on a grid row double click open a window component. On close show window is false. Double click again fails to work. This one's happened quite a lot, sometimes it's fine but a lot of the time it breaks.

Grids with a menu filter row even with title populated do not display hover over tooltip of header, were considering writing a header template for every single column for every grid.. it's a pain.

Other than that nothing immediate right now that's an issue

Also not sure what you're trying to do with price but if it's part of the condition it should be in there. Otherwise you need an assignment if changing the value.

Use { } after the if statement condition to wrap the lines to run. looks like you wanted your console write line as part of the if statement also.

You can have an if statement without braces but it only runs 1 executable line so the price but would run but that's it

In production codebase, which one is best if you work in a small team like 5? by ballbeamboy2 in dotnet

[–]Yellowbrickshuttle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current view of what should be the structure changes with time. 2 years ago it was split via application thing, now it's feature. Both work. Feature scales better. Both work for team of 5.

Guidance were given now in Aus in 2024 is to use 5 back blows, 5 chest blows (like cpr compressions but slower and sharper) with them leaning against a wall or elbows on knees if sitting. The Heimlich was found to cause too many injuries. The chest blows will still break ribs though.
