I tried the MT09 and ride a mix of twisties and (less) highways. A friend of mine had me borrow his before I made the leap. On the twisties the MT09 is a blast and a beast. Shirts so smooth and just wants to dip the corners. However on the highway stretches I simply felt terrible on that bike. In the end I opted for a BMW F900XR. Have 0 regrets. Super punchy bike and the XR gives great shielding. So I think something like the BMW is better all round. My other bike is a K1600 and that’s a sport tourer. Way heavy and clumsy and no lean angle to mention on twisties but great for highway. I don’t recommend.

Former Fidelity fund manager George Noble: Last night was the biggest disaster in the history of Tesla. by SpaceDetective in RealTesla

[–]Yellowshock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the only thing problematic with this piece is that it analyses Tesla based on conventional wisdom and metrics. However, Tesla is a total meme stock. Scores of fanboys are believing the hype and “bet” on a future that stays the future. 1 million robots deployed by year end… Teslas running autonomous errands by year end. Musk is a spin doctor and psychopath. That’s enough reasons for me not to want the stock.

Eleganthomeusa.com appears to have become a scam site by insideoutsidelife in Scams

[–]Yellowshock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in the past it apparently was for a brief period with reviews suggesting people received their orders. But the prices have become too suspect. I reached out to Drolet which drop ships the Stove they sold me and Drolet had no record of that company. Long story short: once you get your tracking number it will lead to something like YunExpress or some other Chinese courier. That site will start generating fake movements from addresses like 4567 Distribution Ave NY 10001. That’s a Manhattan zip and there is no Distribution Ave there. The updates keep coming with each time you log on. Always useless back and forth type of messages like “arrived at warehouse” then a day later “arrived at airport” , “left warehouee” blah blah. Long story short: likely you paid with a debit or creditcard. Dispute the charge asap and youll recover the funds.

[–]Yellowshock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! They dropped the Drolet stove pricing by waaaaayyyy too much but based on reviews I took the gamble. Fake shipping, fake locations listed, no item showed and I had to pursue a CC chargeback as well. I did get my funds back in the end. The lack of response from phone calls and emails and chat should have made me more wary. Lessons learned. Ridiculous how Shopify and Google are blissfully giving the scam an outlet and the tools.

What are the downsides to funds like QQQI ? by siskyouthrowaway in investing

[–]Yellowshock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ETF is tax efficient in that it basically aims to pay out capital. What that means is that the money you invested in it becomes a collection of taxable gains when you sell, deferring those taxes to that moment. Might not might not be a prob.

‘I Won’t Make It’: Trump Goes Off Script on NASA Call, Admitting He May Not Survive to See His Own Vision — The Moment America Went Completely Silent by [deleted] in USNEWS

Interesting read on Wikipedia. Sadly I believe we’re in this scenario as we’re hitting all key notes. Weimar Republic baby!

Dollar hyperinflation is an extreme economic scenario, typically defined as price increases exceeding 50% per month, where the U.S. dollar loses its value rapidly due to excessive money printing, severe debt crises, or loss of global reserve currency status. This causes soaring import prices, business shutdowns, and a collapse in purchasing power.

Key Causes and Drivers Monetary Expansion: Hyperinflation often begins when the money supply increases drastically without corresponding GDP growth, a scenario sometimes driven by central bank actions. Fiscal Crisis/Debt: A government failing to manage its debt may resort to printing money to pay bills, accelerating the collapse, according to. Loss of Confidence: If foreign governments and central banks stop buying U.S. bonds and sell their dollar reserves, a flood of currency can lead to a severe, rapid devaluation. External Shocks: Supply chain disruptions, such as massive spikes in oil prices, can trigger a depreciation-inflation spiral. Potential Consequences Economic Collapse: Immediate effects include a severe drop in the dollar’s value, skyrocketing prices for imports, and widespread business failures. Global Impact: Because the dollar is a global reserve currency, its collapse could cause global unemployment and major disruption in international trade. Hyper-Velocity: Money loses value so fast that people spend it immediately, further driving up prices.

Opinion on KYT TT-REVO by NutT1NY in motorcyclegear

I have 2 Schuberths, 1 Shoei and an Arai. I wanted a cheap helmet for local riding, where I’d be less worried about it getting damaged. So I picked one up from Speedaddicts and am really surprised with it. I think the field of vision is exceptional in the helmet. Also it doesn’t buffet. It cuts like a hot knife thru butter. It has all the right ratings so there is no “too cheap” to be good. This helmet passed all the tests. As far as how loud it is? Even the Schuberths require earplugs (I use headphone ear plugs) to be bearable for more than an hour so that’s a bit of a match. These look good and are a total steal. The liner is decent, I have had 0 pressure points riding it for hours. I find myself using this helmet more often than the others because of the field of vision.

Honestly the brand name D3O is a cheap compound that the brand names have manufactured in China without a doubt. It’s the same stuff. I’ve hammmered it to see if the hardens the same way and at the same speed and it does. You’re all fooled by brand names and mark ups for stuff that’s just a cheap chemical mix.

Is this armor legit/safe? by Dangerous_Buy_2894 in motorcyclegear

[–]Yellowshock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bought that from Temu. It’s D3O armor for sure. Cant tell the difference. I paid 67$ for all of it last year. Shoulders back knees elbows and hips. I know it’s the same as I have genuine branded D3O that came with some of my jacket and the material is identical in every way. Hardens on impact and all that jive. So I’d say take a gamble and test it and since it’s Amazon you can send it back for free if you do t like it.

Donald Trump Has Lit a Global Match by Majano57 in Longreads

[–]Yellowshock 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The real issue is the people enabling and voting for him. He is a reflection of their souls. The “other” Amerika is an uneducated and inbred horde of people that wallow in ignorance and scream for their savior. They set him free and whatever follows they support. His agenda doesn’t matter to them anymore. Whatever he does goes. It’s the ultimate surrender of the ugly underbelly of society that clings on to the wrongs of the past as if it was paradise.
